Wendy Williams’ Niece Accused of Kidnapping in Shocking Dinner Outing!

In the ongoing conflict over her conservatorship, reports have emerged that a relative allegedly “abducted” Wendy Williams from the care facility where she resides. This incident has led to a police report being filed against the family member.

As reported by TMZ, Coterie, a facility based in New York which Williams alleges she has been confined in for the past eight months, has accused Williams’ niece, Alex Finnie, of violating the law by going out for a meal with her on Wednesday evening.

It came out that Finnie was in New York City on Wednesday, accompanying Williams as they returned from Coterie, having visited Lenox Hill Hospital earlier this week for a psychiatric assessment.

Finnie visited Williams at the memory unit within the facility, a place that comes with a monthly fee of $18,000, and later on that day, he treated his aunt to dinner at a city Italian restaurant in the evening.

Upon encountering this situation, I felt compelled to reach out to the New York Police Department and submit a police report. I asserted that Finnie had eluded our staff by exiting the premises with Wendy in tow, according to an inside source.

Instead, it was stated by TMZ that Williams wasn’t permitted to exit the memory unit, situated on the fifth floor, unless a staff member granted her elevator access first.

Additionally, they stated that both Williams and her niece were accompanied by a staff member to the foyer, and this individual also opened the door of the Uber vehicle which transported them to the restaurant.

The experience goes against the assertions stated by attorney of Sabrina Morrisey, guardian of Williams, who communicated in a letter to TMZ that Williams is not subject to any restrictions regarding family visits and can freely enter and exit the facility whenever desired.

The outlet caught up with Williams and her niece as they arrived back at Coterie after dinner.

Williams found the experience “hard to believe” as she strolled hand-in-hand with Finnie, a young lady who happens to be the daughter of Williams’ elder sibling Wanda.

Finnie shared, upon our return, it seemed that the authorities had been summoned for some reason, as he spoke to the cameras outside the structure.

In my own words, I’d say, “Someone mentioned to me that there was a time when the authorities got involved due to rumors circulating among this group, the Coterie, claiming that I had secretly taken my aunt from this place without any proper authorization or consent.

Williams suggested that the extreme actions attributed to the facility are evidence that her caretaker is not truthful about the living conditions she described.

It’s obvious that they’re deceiving me by suggesting I have freedom to do as I please. Meet my niece, Alex, who’s just arrived from Miami. I’ve just left the hospital, so we’re heading out for a celebration instead. Williams clarified this.

Williams appeared noticeably emotional as she voiced her surprise at the actions taken against herself and her niece.

Finnie insisted that both her and Williams are ‘good and back [at the Coterie] in one piece.’

Just before entering the building on her mobility scooter, Williams expressed her thoughts about the situation, saying, “I can’t wait for them to present their arguments. I’m not listening.

As reported by Page Six, Williams and her niece were spotted having dinner at Max Tucci’s restaurant. The television personality was looking fabulous while wearing a Gucci bomber jacket.

‘She had a super time, she kept writing in her journal, she looked great,’ an eyewitness claimed.

Tomorrow, you can find her as a guest on ‘The View’ television show. Those within the restaurant held her in high regard. She was accompanied by her niece and a young gentleman.

Following the recent uproar surrounding the release of the questionable police reports, I found myself in an unexpected situation over the past few days. This predicament stemmed from an incident earlier this week when I was urgently hospitalized on Monday, seeking psychiatric assistance after I reached out to fans for help, as I was observed doing so.

She has been striving to gain independence, as she feels confined at an assisted living center in New York – a situation her guardian disputes – following her diagnosis of progressive aphasia and dementia in 2023.

Williams claimed she aced her assessment, which has raised doubts about the legitimacy of her court-appointed guardianship.

On TMZ Live on Wednesday, she displayed strong emotions, just hours following her guardian Morrissey’s efforts to clarify rumors about her residence.

Williams asserted to the media that it was not true she was given permission to depart from the Coterie for shopping; instead, she emphasized that her family needed Morrissey’s approval even to visit her.

It’s not true; they’re dishonest individuals. I must admit, I’ve reached my limit. Fortunately, I can express myself.

In simpler terms, Williams stated that something is even stricter than the Coterie, which he referred to as the memory unit on the fifth floor. Furthermore, he mentioned that while speaking with Judge Lisa Sokoloff, she addressed him in a peculiar manner.

When inquired about her worries regarding potential transfer to a stricter ward, Williams replied: “Indeed, I am worried, and I might even break down in tears. After all, I’m not immune to emotional outbursts – I can switch from laughter to tears in an instant.

William expressed his unease, letting us know he was being truthful. He admitted to feeling quite frightened by the disarray he encountered. To put it simply, he’s not okay with it and feels the need to escape from this situation as soon as possible.

When asked for the reason why the judge and the guardian intend to keep her at the facility, Williams hinted to Harvey that he would explain more in private. However, Ginalisa Monterroso, who was also on the call with Wendy – an independent caretaker not involved with Williams’ guardianship – believes it might be connected to the ongoing Lifetime lawsuit.

It isn’t clear whether Monterroso works at the assisted living facility or has a direct link with Williams, for that matter.

Previously, a lawyer representing Sabrina, who currently oversees her temporary finances, sought to clarify misconceptions surrounding the talk show host’s allegations of being held captive at Coterie.

In 2022, a judge assigned Sabrina the role following allegations made by former manager Bernie Young, who claimed she might not be mentally sound. This claim further prompted Wells Fargo to momentarily halt Sabrina’s financial accounts.

Sabrina informed TMZ that Wendy was being given top-notch medical attention at a facility boasting amenities such as a spa, fitness center, delicious meals served in a dining area, and outdoor terraces – an arrangement contrary to what Wendy herself had stated, as she can only depart from the memory unit with explicit permission.

In February last month, the celebrity disclosed that she had left her home merely two times during an entire month, opening up about her isolation under her conservatorship.

Apart from claiming that she is not cognitively impaired, Wendy’s family recently spoke up publicly. They are currently seeking a lawyer to assist Wendy in regaining control over her life.

On Tuesday, Wendy spoke up for the first time during an interview on Good Day New York York, hosted by Rosanna Scotto.

Williams phoned Scotto from the hospital, saying that she aced her assessment with ‘exceptional success.’

Rosanna changed the topic and expressed, “What I can’t wrap my head around, Wendy, is why they’re treating you as if you had done something wrong by putting you behind bars.

I was ecstatic as I exclaimed, “Absolutely! Let me share a tidbit with you. Guess what? I’m currently occupying the fifth story, a place they call the Memory Unit. It’s this peculiar floor where nothing is remembered. Can you imagine that?

She explained that unfortunately, she can’t leave the building since she isn’t permitted to do so. To access the gym on the third floor, she requires special permission.

Wendy then emotionally stated that her money is ‘up in the air’ before saying, ‘This is my life.’

Near the conclusion of the interview, she mentioned that ending her guardianship was her top priority.

On my visit to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City on Monday, coming from the assisted living facility I now call home, I underwent an evaluation by a skilled psychiatrist, as part of my ongoing health journey.

On Monday, according to sources, Williams was reportedly given a full mark on a ‘competency evaluation’ conducted by a psychiatrist.

DailyMail.com has reached out to a representative for Williams for comment.

Based on what I’ve learned from my resources, I was given a 10-question survey tailored to assess my awareness and decision-making skills, and I managed to score a perfect 10 on it.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but notice that despite a single test not painting the whole picture of her cognitive abilities, her remarkable performance on it hints at a level of awareness that surpasses what her guardian suggests.

Williams had previously been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.

It turns out that the test Williams took wasn’t aimed at questioning her dementia diagnosis. Instead, the results are intended to be disclosed to the judge handling her guardianship case.

Over the past few weeks, Wendy has been actively reaching out to media outlets to argue that she’s made significant strides in her condition and is capable of handling her personal affairs, including finances, independently.

Williams’ public relations efforts will broaden later this week, as she is due to appear on national television for the first time following her diagnosis with dementia.

Earlier, it had been shared that before Williams went to the hospital, some NYPD officers stopped by her assisted living facility to conduct a health and safety check.

As a trusted authority on lifestyle matters, let me share an intriguing piece of information I’ve recently come across. On Monday, reliable sources have suggested that Gina may have initiated a visit to the hospital and undergone a cognitive assessment, although these details are yet to be confirmed officially.

As reported by TMZ, the New York Adult Protective Services agency is currently examining her guardianship situation and her residence within a specialized memory unit in a facility. It seems that she has limited freedoms compared to patients residing on different levels of the facility.

Williams asserts that she does not experience memory problems, which makes her believe she shouldn’t lose her privileges. It’s also said that she lacks the ability to move freely on that floor.

The article mentions that APS has been speaking with individuals associated with the rumor spreader. Among these is her niece, Alex Finnie, who allegedly was interviewed by them on Monday.

According to reports, Wendy has allegedly had a conversation with the organization not long ago. Moreover, it’s said that the New York Police Department is still looking into the details surrounding her time at the facility.

On Sunday, it was announced by ABC that Williams is set to make her initial appearance on national television following her surprising dementia diagnosis, marking her return to the spotlight.

On this coming Friday, March 14th, I’ll have the privilege of appearing on ABC’s The View, where we’ll discuss a variety of topics. Yet, alongside this public engagement, I am also engaged in a significant legal struggle aimed at terminating my guardianship. Balancing both worlds is a challenge, but I look forward to sharing insights and perspectives with the viewers.

Recently, Wendy has been trying to communicate more by using the phone from the assisted living facility where she resides. This particular unit she’s in is designed to support individuals with memory issues, but it limits her freedom and offers only a minimal range of privileges for mobility.

It’s uncertain if Williams will join The View live on set; instead, ABC has revealed that she will participate in a phone conversation with the hosts, which include Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Last month, I was beyond ecstatic when my guardianship and the facility granted me the extraordinary chance to jet off to sunny Miami for a few days to celebrate my dear father’s 94th birthday! It felt like a rare gust of fresh air in an otherwise monotonous routine.

In the year 2022, Williams found herself under a court-assigned guardianship following Wells Fargo’s flagging of multiple substantial transactions from her bank account as questionable.

Following Williams’ diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia and aphasia in February 2024, Morrissey commented that the individual was ‘affected cognitively and irreversibly disabled.’

Lately, it appears that Wendy is arguing against the idea that she’s incapacitated and insisting on being released again, despite seeming clear-minded.
