Warwick Davis’ ‘mystery partner is revealed as Yvette who he has been dating for a year’ after his wife tragically died aged 53 two years ago

The woman who accompanied Warwick Davis has been identified as Yvette. She was there to support him when he received his OBE from The Prince of Wales earlier this week.

56-year-old actor known for Harry Potter has been with Yvette, who is from the United States, for a year, and sources say they’ve never been more content.

It’s been a really tough time, but I’m so happy to share that after losing my wife, Samantha, so unexpectedly in 2024 – she was only 53 – I’ve found love again. I’ve affectionately nicknamed my new partner ‘Sponge’ because they’ve truly helped me open my heart and feel that joy again. It’s amazing how someone can help you heal and rediscover what it feels like to love.

His daughter, Annabelle, 28, and son, Harrison, 23, accompanied him as he received an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) award, recognizing his contributions to acting and charitable work.

Last month, Yvette joined Warrick at the Bafta Film Awards held at London’s Royal Festival Hall, as reported by The Sun.

Last July, the couple were also seen backstage together at a Madness concert in Cornwall.

According to a source, Warwick and Yvette have been together for more than a year and are very happy with each other.

Yvette prefers to stay out of the public eye and doesn’t seek attention, even though she sometimes attends events with Warwick.

Yvette deeply admires Warwick and enjoys supporting him at events, but she’s happy to let him take center stage.

Yvette and Warwick have a wonderful life together, and she’s very close with his children. Everyone just wanted Warwick to be happy, and he finally is with Yvette.

Daily Mail have contacted Warwick’s representatives for comment.

It was such a lovely moment! I was there as Warwick received his honour, and I saw him chatting with Prince William right after. Yvette and their kids were there too, beaming with pride as they watched the whole thing unfold. A truly heartwarming family occasion.

As many of you know, I’m a father to two wonderful children. Sadly, my wife, Samantha, passed away in 2024. It was incredibly sudden – she had a cardiac arrest after what was meant to be a routine surgery. It’s been a difficult time, but my kids are my priority, and we’re navigating life together.

During his BAFTA Fellowship acceptance speech last year, the actor shared that he’d found love again with someone he hadn’t publicly identified.

He said: ‘Special mention should go to Sponge, you know who you are.

Thank you for reminding me that life is worth living, and for bringing laughter and love back into my life.

When Jonathan Ross asked Warwick about the identity of ‘Sponge’ last year, Warwick jokingly revealed it was a reference to Lord Voldemort from the Harry Potter series, calling them ‘She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named’.

Warwick notes that the character Sponge is very similar to Kerry Mucklowe, played by Daisy May Cooper in the comedy series This Country, pointing out parallels in her speech and accent.

Warwick discussed his heartfelt tribute to his late wife, Samantha, during his acceptance speech. He explained that actors sometimes hesitate to fully commit to roles, hoping a better opportunity will appear.

She constantly encouraged me to take chances and pursue opportunities, always saying, “Go for it!” She was a fantastic networker, consistently connecting with producers and securing work for me. She was incredibly supportive, which is essential in this challenging industry. It’s vital to have someone who understands and supports the demands of the job, like being away from home or working long, unpredictable hours.

Warwick explained that being an actor can be a very isolating job. He believes having a strong and supportive home life is essential to manage those challenges and succeed.

Warwick’s wife, Samantha Davis, a fellow actress, passed away on March 24, 2024, at University College Hospital in London. She was 53 years old.

The investigation into her death determined that she died of a heart attack brought on by problems during and after necessary surgery.

In 2019, she developed a serious infection called sepsis and required intensive care. This occurred after she had surgery on her spine at University College London Hospital.

Warwick honored his late wife with a heartfelt dedication while accepting his BAFTA Film Fellowship award at the ceremony.

I want to especially thank my amazing wife, Sammy, who passed away nearly a year ago. She always believed in my work and pushed me to take every chance that came my way.

It was so moving to watch his kids tearing up as their dad gave his speech. He specifically thanked them for being his rocks through a really difficult year, and honestly, it got me right in the feels. You could just feel the love and support they share – it was a beautiful moment.

Things have been difficult for me since then, but I’ve been able to keep working and stay positive thanks to the amazing support of my children, Annabelle and Harrison.

The couple first connected while working on the 1988 fantasy film Willow, where he played the main character, Willow Ufgood. They tied the knot in 1991.

Warwick and Samantha had three children: Annabelle, Harrison, and a son who sadly passed away just nine days after his birth.

In 2022, Warwick shared that no parent should have to endure the heartbreaking loss of a child, stating simply, ‘You never get over it.’

Five years before she passed away, Samantha became seriously ill with sepsis. Warwick stayed by her side at the hospital, supporting her as she bravely fought for her life.

In 2019, their family was preparing for a caravan trip when she unexpectedly became sick with an unknown illness, which she initially believed was caused by stress.

She became very sick and was close to death, but thankfully recovered in an amazing way.

Samantha sadly passed away in 2024. Warwick shared a heartfelt message, saying he was devastated by the loss and remembered her as his dearest friend.

Oh, Sammy… he always called her Sammy. And honestly, she was everything to him! He’d always say she was his most trusted person, the one he told everything to. She wasn’t just a fan, she was his biggest champion, always there cheering him on with everything he did. He really couldn’t have done it without her, I just know it.

The actor, known for his role in Star Wars, shared that being with his wife makes him feel incredibly empowered, like they can accomplish anything together. He described it as having a ‘superpower’.

Warwick described her as a truly one-of-a-kind person who always looked on the bright side and had a fantastic sense of humor, even laughing at his terrible jokes, according to a statement he gave to the BBC.

After reviewing the details of Samantha’s death, Senior Coroner Professor Fiona Wilcox determined that she died from an irregular heartbeat and complications that arose from surgeries on her left side.

She shared that she has achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism, and also has serious spinal issues. These problems have needed several surgeries since 2016.

She also complimented the hospital staff, stating in court that they provided consistently excellent care and handled all of Samantha’s medical issues properly.

She determined that the patient died of an irregular heartbeat, leading to cardiac arrest, and from complications related to previous surgeries on their left side.

I believe the combined stress led to this sudden and irregular stopping of her heart, even though she had no history of heart rhythm issues.

Dr. Wilcox stated he consistently observed excellent care for the patient, and that all of her medical issues were handled correctly.

It’s truly devastating that although the surgery went well, she sadly passed away due to later complications.

Dr. David Lawrence, a heart and chest surgeon at University College London Hospitals, reported that Samantha was recovering well and her vital signs were stable.

He explained to the court that, unfortunately, the plan that night was for her to go home the next day.

The patient had a clear chest x-ray, their vital signs were stable, and they didn’t experience any bleeding throughout the day.

As a lifestyle expert focused on patient wellbeing, I often see the complexities of hospital stays. In this particular case, the patient had two chest drains removed during her time in the hospital – and sadly, the second one came out on the very day she passed away. It’s a poignant reminder of how delicate life can be, even with medical interventions.

The coroner, Professor Wilcox, determined that the person died of an irregular heartbeat leading to cardiac arrest, and that this was connected to complications from previous surgery on their left side.

I believe the combined stress led to this sudden and irregular stopping of the heart in a woman with no history of heart rhythm issues.

The coroner stated that the patient received consistently excellent care, and her medical complications were handled correctly.

It’s truly devastating that although the surgery went well, she sadly passed away due to complications that developed afterward.

The family shared a statement through their lawyers before the hearing, saying they believe the courage and strength Sammy taught them will help them cope with what comes next.

We want to carry on the spirit of her love, support, and strength. The Sammy’s Helping Hands fund, created in her memory, has already made a significant difference in the lives of young people with dwarfism, and it will continue to help families throughout the UK in the years to come.

‘The last year and trying to come to terms with Samantha’s death has been incredibly difficult.

We’re hoping the inquest will finally give us the answers we’ve been looking for. We also want to thank everyone for their support and kind thoughts during this difficult time.

Samantha has achondroplasia, a condition she had since childhood that affects bone growth and results in dwarfism.

Her husband has a similar genetic condition called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, which limited his growth, and he only reached a height of 3 feet 6 inches.

Warwick Davis is famous for playing characters like Professor Flitwick and Griphook in the Harry Potter films, and for his funny appearances with Karl Pilkington on the show An Idiot Abroad. He’s also highly respected for his work raising awareness and support for people with dwarfism.

In 2012, he and his late wife, Samantha, co-founded Little People UK, a charity dedicated to helping people with dwarfism and their families.

Davis will be back as Professor Flitwick in the upcoming Harry Potter series reboot, confirming his return to the wizarding world.
