Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway To Acquire $10,000,000,000 Worth of Alphabet Stock As Google Ramps Up AI Infrastructure Investment

Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is investing heavily in artificial intelligence. They plan to raise $80 billion through new stock sales, and Berkshire Hathaway will contribute $10 billion as part of a private investment.

Berkshire Hathaway announced it will buy $10 billion worth of Alphabet stock – $5 billion in Class A shares at $351.81 each and $5 billion in Class C shares at $348.20 each. Goldman Sachs is handling the transaction.

As a crypto investor, I’m keeping a close eye on this. Alphabet – Google’s parent company – just announced they’re selling $80 billion worth of stock. They say it’s to invest heavily in the computing power needed for AI, and to keep up with the huge demand they’re seeing. It’s interesting because a lot of the future of crypto and Web3 relies on that same infrastructure, so this could impact the space down the line.

The company is planning to raise a total of $70 billion. This includes $30 billion through stock offerings – half as preferred stock that will automatically convert to common stock, and half as standard common and capital stock. An additional $40 billion will be raised through a stock-selling program starting in the third quarter of 2026.

Alphabet plans to use its revenue to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure and computing power around the world. The company anticipates spending between $180 billion and $190 billion on these upgrades in 2026, and expects to increase that investment even more in 2027.

In the first quarter of 2026, Alphabet announced total revenue of $110 billion, a 22% increase compared to the same quarter last year. Google Cloud was a major driver of this growth, with revenue up 63% and its order backlog almost doubling to over $460 billion.

Over the past year, the company borrowed more than $85 billion in six different currencies, increasing its total debt to over $100 billion.
