Wang Cong gets her post-fight bonus afterall
Last Saturday evening, Wang Cong gave an outstanding performance by delivering one of the top knockouts this year against Victoria Leonardo during her UFC debut. However, despite the impressive victory, she was not awarded a post-fight bonus. But later on Instagram, Dana White corrected this oversight.
“Wake up and find out there is no POTN,” Cong wrote on Instagram. “Next fight you will see more spectacular finish @ufc. Don’t play with Joker again!” White saw her comments and replied back, “I was out of town and watch the fight @mystiqueboston on TV,” White replied on Instagram. “You looked AMAZING. I’m adding another PON bonus for u. Congrats u get 50k.” I’m glad to see that Cong got her recognition. She deserves it.
Alex Pereira thinks Israel Adesanya was injured, Izzy responds
It’s strange, almost as if we’ve familiarized ourselves extensively through shared experiences or confrontations, even though we haven’t spent much time together. That’s how well he seems to know me.
— Israel Adesanya (@stylebender) August 25, 2024
Alex Pereira hinted that Israel Adesanya might have been injured during his fight against Dricus Du Plessis. He suggested, “Perhaps Adesanya was hurt, I’m not sure. It seemed like he barely kicked…Adesanya is known for his powerful inside leg kick…He didn’t keep using it, instead he just threw punches.”
Adesanya seemed to agree with Pereira’s perception. He wrote, “It’s strange that this man seems to know me so well…it’s as if we’ve spent hours analyzing each other’s techniques and have fought several times before. I was being serious about that.”
It’s not uncommon for fighters to fight injured but it does seem like a silly mistake if that’s the case. Adesanya was making a return and should have waited if he went into the fight injured.

While there’s no connection to Mixed Martial Arts here, as none of the individuals in the video seem to be professional fighters, it doesn’t change the fact that an impromptu brawl still holds an undeniable appeal. Since there are no fights happening elsewhere this week aside from the Contender Series, this could be our best option for some action over the coming days.
