Over the weekend, Vogue Williams and Spencer Matthews’ son, Otto, had to go to the emergency room after breaking his collarbone.
On Sunday evening, the 40-year-old TV and radio host announced on social media that her three-year-old son was in a sling after an accident.
Vogue magazine shared a photo of Otto in a hospital room at Chelsea and Westminster in London, where her son was receiving care.
She shared a photo with the caption: ‘What a crazy weekend! We had to go to the emergency room with Otto, who broke his collarbone. He keeps insisting it’s not broken, just bruised!’
Vogue also expressed her gratitude to the hospital staff, noting how promptly she and others received care.
The staff at Chelsea Westminster Hospital were fantastic and worked incredibly efficiently to help everyone. I’m very grateful to them – they really went above and beyond! It’s amazing how they can handle anything, even things that seem impossible – like fixing problems with Play-Doh!
Vogue shared that once they left the hospital with Otto, they went to Chelsea Farm, letting him go wherever he pleased.
Chelsea Farm is a shop and café on Fulham Road that sells fresh, high-quality produce – often organic – as well as ready-made meals.
Vogue was flooded with supportive messages from friends and fans, with Shirlie Kemp and Catherine Tyldesley among those sending their hopes for Otto’s well-being.
Vogue and Spencer, who got married in June 2018, are parents to seven-year-old Theodore and five-year-old Gigi.
Spencer recently made his wife, Vogue, cry with emotion when he shared how happy and grateful he is to be married to her.
Spencer, who has spoken openly about how dangerous his drinking once was, shared that he decided to stop drinking for himself, his relationship, and for a feature in Vogue.
In a clip from his appearance on The Entrepreneur Experiment podcast, which he shared on Instagram, he spoke about wanting to be his best self for his partner, describing her as an incredibly brave and hardworking woman.
She’s incredibly busy, but also a fantastic mother. I think you should ask her how she manages to balance work and being so present for her three children – I really admire her ability to do both, as I struggle with that myself.
I often sacrifice time with my family because of my work, but my wife manages both work and family life beautifully. I feel incredibly lucky and proud to be married to her.
Vogue commented with heartfelt emotion, saying, “Ahhhhh, that might have made me cry, thank you Spenno.”
Fans showered the star with praise, admiring his kind words and appreciation for his wife’s talent and hard work. Many commented on what a wonderful couple they seemed, with some saying all husbands should speak about their wives with such respect and admiration. Several users expressed a desire to find a partner who would speak about them with similar affection in private.
Spencer’s drinking problems got worse while he was on the popular E4 reality show, where he was well-known for partying heavily and the problems it caused in his relationships.
He shared on the Vogue’s Taboo Talk podcast why he decided to stop drinking and what led to his heavy drinking in the past.
Spencer shared that in his previous jobs, being able to hold his liquor was a significant advantage.
When I worked as a trader at ICAP, heavy drinking was just part of the culture. We’d routinely drink between five and ten pints of beer daily, and then continue drinking with clients in the evenings. It was pretty much expected – if you weren’t willing to participate, you wouldn’t have been hired.
In a recent interview with Vogue, the father of three shared the story of what led him to change his life for the better.
He realized something important one night while drinking alone. He suddenly recognized he was going to bed intoxicated, and it made him think.
One evening, while I was by myself, I drank a bottle of whiskey and barely managed to get to bed. I was incredibly drunk. The next morning, I realized I didn’t want alcohol to be a part of my life anymore.
My path would have been harder if my spouse enjoyed drinking. Because they don’t really drink, things were actually easier for me.
He explained it wasn’t a simple decision to stop drinking. He was facing serious consequences – he could have lost his relationship, his job, or even his life. He admitted it might sound dramatic, but that’s where things were going.
Spencer doesn’t believe he has a problem with alcohol anymore because he’s now able to drink responsibly. He explained that previously, starting with just one drink would quickly lead to him drinking much more and staying out late.
I’m mostly free from alcohol now. I used to drink heavily every day, but now I only have a drink occasionally when I want one.
‘I no longer see it as a problem. I have great balance in my life.’
