Unveiling Every Challenging Boss in The First Berserker: Khazan!

Title character “Khazan: The First Berserker” stands out among Soulslikes, offering a challenge for even seasoned veterans of the genre. In total, it features 16 main bosses, ranging from Yetuga to the final antagonist, Ozma. Additionally, there are 21 secondary bosses hidden within bonus missions scattered across different areas. These extra bosses are often retextured versions of primary adversaries.

In the game “First Berserker: Khazan,” each major boss possesses unique attacks and movement patterns, demanding players to continually improve their skills for survival as they progress through the game. During my gaming journey, I found that every boss in Khazan served as a teacher, helping me adapt my playstyle and employ various abilities effectively. The experience offered a clear sense of development and advancement as I mastered strategies to conquer increasingly challenging opponents. Here’s a concise rundown of the main bosses in Khazan, arranged by their order of appearance.

Yetuga

The First Berserker’s First Test

In the game, Yetuga is the primary adversary Khazan encounters initially, serving as a precursor for what lies ahead. For those unfamiliar with Soulslikes or their inherent challenge, Yetuga is likely to prove both frustrating and overwhelming. In essence, this will be your first trial in the game, requiring you to grasp fundamental mechanics and abilities such as evasive maneuvers like brink dodge and defensive techniques like guards.

Overcoming Yetuga grants you two unspecified items from the Frozen Mountain collection, beneficial during the initial phase of the game. By utilizing both items, you’ll receive a moderate boost to your health. Additionally, there’s a chance that Yetuga could award items from the Ashen Wolf Set, a Frozen Mountain Ruler’s Horn, or an Augment of Wisdom.

Blade Phantom

Time To Listen To That Voice In Khazan’s Head

In this game, Blade Phantom is the persistent inner voice troubling Khazan since you began playing, urging him to seize control. However, Khazan resists, forcing you into a confrontation with Blade Phantom. This encounter will establish the foundation for the main storyline. Keep in mind that Blade Phantom employs spectral attack forms and can prove challenging without sufficient training.

Beating Blade Phantom yields two randomly selected items from the Soul Eater equipment set, along with a random weapon or accessory. Additionally, there’s a possibility that Netherworld Mineral might drop, an essential resource for crafting the complete Soul Eater gear collection.

Viper

The Next Level Of Difficulty Awaits

In the game The First Berserker: Khazan, Viper serves as an exceptionally difficult boss, surpassing Blade Phantom and Yetuga in terms of speed and unpredictability. Precision is crucial when facing Viper, and it’s advisable to excel at Brink Guard and Reflection abilities for the best chance of success. What makes Viper particularly formidable is his ability to transform into a second form once you think you’ve defeated him by depleting his initial health bar completely.

Defeating Viper will earn you two randomly selected items from the Fallen Lord collection, as well as a random weapon or accessory. Additionally, there’s a chance you might get a pair of Fallen Lord’s Claws. These items can be used to craft pieces of the Fallen Lord set once you discover the scroll in the Silent Temple at a later time.

Volbaino

A Fired-Up Beast With A Hammer & Chisel

In the early stages, Volbaino is the initial adversary who frequently inflicts damage based on elements, specifically fire. He’ll drive his spike into the ground, causing an entire level of the combat arena to ignite, and also generates large AoE fire circles that restrict safe areas for Khazan to move around without getting burned. However, Volbaino does have vulnerabilities, and by utilizing the two levels in the boss’s arena effectively, you can manipulate the battle to your advantage.

Overcoming Volbaino yields two randomly selected items from the Fallen Guardian collection, a potent duel-wield set that boosts fire power. Additionally, you might obtain the Guardian’s Hooves material, essential for crafting items within the Fallen Guardian set, and a single piece of equipment at random.

Aratra

A Spider Boss With Poison In Its Veins

In the fantasy game The First Beserker: Khazan, the boss spider Aratra is another enemy that inflicts elemental damage, specifically poison this time. Unlike other enemies, Aratra isn’t shy about employing its venomous abilities, firing off large poison balls that can cause harm and build up poison rapidly. Fortunately, Aratra has a glaring weak point – its enormous abdomen. If you manage to stay behind the spider, you’ll have an opportunity to dish out heavy, sustained combo damage.

Battling Aratra yields two randomly selected items from the Devourer of Darkness gear collection and potentially a Man-Eating Spider Leg for crafting the set pieces. In my view, this is one of the more manageable bosses within the game, but it’s wise to carry some Poison Cleansing Potions as precautionary measures.

Rangkus

Khazan Dodges Actual Bullets In This Match-Up

The primary adversary, Khazan (The First Beserker), possesses a potent, swift-firing flamethrower that launches projectiles and enables him to swing across the boss battlefield. He’s undeniably the most challenging foe you’ve encountered so far, and this encounter signifies a significant increase in game difficulty from hereon. The battle with Rangkus will put your abilities to the ultimate test, yet he also boasts some evident vulnerabilities that can be taken advantage of.

When you engage him in battle and defeat him, you stand a chance of receiving two randomly selected pieces from the Furious Bandit equipment collection, a useful dual-wield set for powerful charged attacks. Additionally, there’s a possibility that he may drop Bandit’s Spoils, an essential material required for crafting items within the Furious Bandit Set.

Maluca

A Time For Reflection

In the game The First Beserker: Khazan, Maluca stands as another challenging boss who can prove particularly difficult if you’re not proficient with the Reflection skill, haven’t found a way to inflict sustained combos, or haven’t optimized your equipment. Timing a well-executed Reflection against Maluca is straightforward and will deplete his stamina gauge, offering an excellent chance for a powerful counterattack.

As a gamer, I’ve learned that vanquishing Maluca in The First Beserker: Khazan yields two items from the Chaos-Ridden set. One of these could be a weapon or an accessory, picked at random. Additionally, there’s a chance you might get a Chaos Fragment. This peculiar material is vital for crafting each piece of the Chaos-Ridden set. You can find a Chaos-Ridden scroll hidden within the Abandoned Citadel during your quest in the “Final Conquest” mission.

Elamein

A Tragic Ending For Khazan’s Dear Friend

Previously, Elamein held a cherished position as Khazan’s loyal ally, but regrettably, their bond was shattered due to the onset of Chaos. Presently, Khazan finds himself in a position where he must confront Elamein and it fills him with sorrow. Elamein is a swift adversary with numerous opportunities for inflicting continuous combo damage. She wields electrocution attacks and can hurl bolts of lightning at you. If you find yourself struggling to replenish your stamina, consider using Vitality Spheres as a remedy.

Triumphing over Elamein in The First Beserker: Khazan will grant two randomly selected items from my preferred spear build, the Crushed Dreams set. This particular set imbues Khazan’s weapon with electrical damage following a brink guard, and additional electrical abilities as well.

Shactuka

Time For Some Beast-Slaying

Shactuka is a colossal, spike-collared monster inflicting substantial damage. He employs an assortment of fierce, swift, and slashing attacks that can be tricky to dodge because of their rhythm. Yet, as with all the bosses previously encountered, practice improves performance, and you shouldn’t find it overly challenging to vanquish this beast and gather two randomly selected items from the Beast-Slayer equipment collection.

The Beastslayer equipment suite is particularly suited for a Dual Wield build that emphasizes Whirlwind, as its set bonuses significantly amplify this ability to its maximum potential with the Tempest skill. This skill, which can be considered highly effective against large adversaries, isn’t just visually impressive but also delivers substantial damage to colossal enemies.

Trokka

The Most Annoying & Beautiful Boss Fight In The Game

Coming up is an intriguing yet exasperating boss fight with Trokka in the game Khazan. Trokka poses a challenge due to her reliance on ranged attacks and an array of moves she can use. Fortunately, several of her attacks can be cut short, but otherwise, they are tricky to avoid or defend against initially because of their peculiar rhythm. To ease your experience, utilize lightning attacks against Trokka.

Winning against Trokka grants you two pieces at random from the Drowned Witch collection, which is my runner-up for top spear equipment in the game. This full set of eight items enhances both your spear and javelin, boosting their ranged attack capabilities, and it infuses your attacks with water damage, giving it a truly distinctive quality.

Bellerian

The Endgame Begins

Bellerian signals the final stages of the game when it comes to confronting bosses. She’s a sorceress capable of inflicting various elemental status effects with her attacks – fire, lightning, and Chaos. What sets her apart is her force field that you’ll need to break through, and she summons spectral skeletons from an ominous fog that assault you. In essence, Bellerian prepares you for the challenges ahead in the endgame, outshining the difficulty of earlier boss battles.

Conquering Bellerian will award you with two randomly selected items from the Fugitive Mage set, which I highly suggest for a Greatsword build in The First Berserker: Khazan. Additionally, she might yield the Hermit’s Enchanted Stone, an exclusive material essential for crafting that set.

Skalpel

A Plague Zombie With A Coffin On His Back

In this game, Skalpel stands out as an exceptionally distinctive boss, and he is incredibly tough by any standard. If you haven’t perfected the Reflection skill yet, this battle essentially necessitates that you do so, or else it becomes quite challenging to lower Skalpel’s stamina bar for some damaging attack chances.

Using Skalpel in battle grants two unpredictable items from the Bloodthirsty Fiend Duo Set, a formidable additional weapon pair with an exceptional final ability skill – Doom, amplifying the area-of-effect (AoE) power of Gale’s potent blow attack. This skill is one of the top skills in the game for AoE damage, making it a worthwhile experience to try out this set, regardless of your preference towards dual wielding weapons.

Princess Ilyna

A Mage-Fighter With Two Tough Phases

In the first stage, you can take advantage of Princess Ilyana’s spellcasting by using Concentrated Lightning Essence against her. During this phase, she is more prone to mage-like abilities. As for the second phase, it would be prudent to dodge or time your Reflections as she shifts towards fighter-style attacks.

Princess Ilyana occasionally disperses two random items from the Unending Tragedy collection, which serves as a fantastic Dual Wield choice and could be considered top-tier. Additionally, she might also distribute the necessary material for crafting the Unending Tragedy set, namely the Princess’s Mirror.

Hismar

Time To Fight A Dragon

Himmar might appear more intimidating than he truly is, but don’t let his size fool you – you can effortlessly dodge and retaliate against his diverse attacks. It would be wise to equip the Hunter set for this battle, as it grants a substantial 15% damage increase against Dragonkin adversaries. Additionally, you can engage guard mode and deflect most of his claw strikes, providing you with plenty of time for stamina depletion and fierce counterattacks.

Hismar accidentally lets slip the Fleshripper Crafting Scroll, a valuable item that enables you to manufacture the complete Fleshripper Greatsword collection at the Blacksmith. Not every game boss yields such a scroll directly for crafting; usually, it drops random pieces of the Fleshripper gear set itself.

Reese

Ozma

Khazan’s Arch Nemesis

This is the culmination of your journey with Khazan throughout the game, and it lives up to the reputation as one of the toughest games you’ll encounter. Ozma, a three-stage boss, has more attacks than any other in the game. He can inflict various elemental statuses such as Fire, Ice, Chaos, among others. Ozma is the ultimate trial of your abilities, and to defeat him, you’ll need top-tier equipment and optimal enhancements.

In essence, Ozma will expect near flawless performance and will compensate you generously, offering a wealth of prizes such as the Shooting Star Greatsword, Wooyo’s Breeze Dual Wield, and Killing Flash Spear. Additionally, there’s a possibility he may drop items from the Master of Chaos set, including Eye of Chaos for crafting purposes, and even the Master of Chaos scroll itself. While Ozma is undoubtedly the toughest adversary in The First Berserker: Khazan, he also signifies the culmination of a difficult odyssey with some of the finest rewards in the game.
