Unlock the Secrets: How to Catch the Elusive Prism Hercudrome in Monster Hunter Wilds!
If you’re on the hunt for the elusive Prism Hercudrome in Monster Hunter Wilds, this guide will walk you through the process. This tricky creature is notoriously hard to find and capture due to its brief appearances. In fact, it’s visible for a mere few minutes each day, so we’ve got some tips to make catching it as smooth as possible.
The notes from the researcher on the Prism Hercudrome subtly suggest its potential location and timing.
A species belonging to the Hercudrome family is known for its shimmering shell. This creature has a well-developed pronotum, which features three distinct horns prominently. Unlike typical Hercudromes, these dwell in the Ruins of Wyveria. Regrettably, there have been very few encounters with them. It seems that most sightings occur at dawn or dusk, suggesting these could be the optimal times to try and spot or catch one.
How to Catch a Prism Hercudrome in MH Wilds

A crucial point to remember when trying to capture a Prism Hercudrome is that it exclusively manifests within the Ruins of Wyveria. More specifically, look for it on the side of a tree in Area 5, which is located on the second level of the map. The images below show where to find the tree/creature:

As a gamer, one key detail you should be aware of is that this rare find only pops up during the wee hours of the night, just before dawn. However, it’s a bit elusive, and I might have to restart my game multiple times to finally bag the catch.
For your convenience, please handle your Pop-Up Camps at the Help Center and establish the “Southeast Camp” within Area 6. This camp will provide maximum safety as it’s situated closest to the Prism Hercudrome’s spawn point, which lies directly west in Area 5.

Before venturing to the tree in Area 5, remember to first set up your Tent, switch to Nighttime, and alter the environment to Plenty. Now, if you glance at your map and then examine the Environment Overview on the right-hand side, you’ll notice the biome you’re currently in, which is Wyveria, and it should read as Nighttime.

As a gamer, when you press R1/RB and shift focus to the final part, you’ll find a comprehensive timeline for the game’s day/night cycle. After the disappearance of the purple bar, prepare for dawn (represented by the blue bar).
- What you need to do is change the day to Night at camp.
- Wait in-game until there’s only 3-5 minutes left before Morning.
- Save your game in the settings.
- Check if the Hercudrome is on the tree.
- If it’s not there, quit and do not save the game.
- Head back in the game, fast travel to the Camp Site in Wyveria, head to the tree, and check if the bug has spawned.
- You can basically repeat this as many times as you need to until the creature appears.
- If you saved your game at the right time, each restart should give you a minute or two to check on the bug before Morning hits.
