How to Find Ulrask Boss in Avowed

Initially, gamers come across the enormous ogre named Ulrask during the optional mission called “Steel Resolve” within Avowed. On your journey towards the Fior Southern Gate Beacon, you’ll cross paths with Ranger Dorso. If you inquire about Ranger Monato from her, she will task you to investigate in the Ogre’s Cave. Consequently, upon reaching the cave, players engage in a fight against Ulrask before discovering hints regarding the missing ranger.

If you haven’t finished Steel Resolve before reaching a certain stage in Emerald Stair, it’s still possible for you to encounter Ulrask. This fearsome ogre resides in the ominous Grim Wetlands, positioned northwest of the Sunken Village. Players can locate his lair by venturing into a dimly lit cave situated at the edge of this area. This cave offers treasures and leads directly to the domain of Ulrask.

How to Beat Ulrask the Giant Ogre

  • Club Swing: Ulrask will lunch at the player or companion and swing its club from left to right. This attack should be blocked as dodging it may get you hit regardless.
  • Poisonous Spit: The boss will cover its mouth and then launch a projectile at the player, inflicting the poison status effect. Dodging helps you avoid getting hit with it.

As a devoted admirer, I’d say the wisest approach when facing Ulrask is to initially freeze it using a spell or freeze bombs at your disposal. Once frozen solid, take advantage of the situation and start attacking it. Be cautious though, as soon as it thaws, Ulrask will retaliate with its club.
