I’m so excited! It looks like we’re going to get more of Charley Brown’s story in the second season of Dexter: Resurrection – Uma Thurman is officially coming back to play her! There’s clearly still some loose ends with her character they want to explore, and I can’t wait to see what happens.
After working as a Special Ops soldier and then becoming head of security for billionaire Leon Prater, she betrayed him following an encounter with Dexter. At the end of the first season, she left New York City with her mother, hoping for a fresh start.
It’s unclear why she’s returning for the second season, or if she’ll end up helping or hindering our main character, who is a serial killer.

Last week, the show revealed that Brian Cox, famous for his role in Succession, will be joining the cast. He’ll be playing Dam Frant, a retired serial killer who was known as The New York Ripper.
Although the character has stopped actively killing, he’s now found a way to stay infamous by continuing to torment those who survived his past crimes.

The new series, Dexter: Resurrection, is receiving very positive reviews. Critics on Rotten Tomatoes have given it a 95% approval rating, and viewers on IMDb have awarded it an average score of 9.0 out of 10.
One excited fan described the reimagining as a stunning and powerful return, praising its faithfulness to the source material while also forging its own identity. They particularly highlighted the impressive cast, calling Thurman ‘cool, deadly, and mesmerizing’.

Despite the success of this newest Dexter series – the fourth show in the franchise – the prequel Original Sin was cancelled last year, even after being renewed for another season.
Okay, so the new show didn’t quite hit the same way the first one or Resurrection did. Critics over at Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 70% positive score, which is… decent, but not amazing, you know?
Hey, so if you’re a Dexter fan, the new series, ‘Dexter: Resurrection,’ is streaming on Paramount+ right now. Unfortunately, there’s no news yet on when season 2 will drop, so we’re all waiting with the rest of you!
Dexter is available to stream on Channel 4 and Paramount+.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-colour 100-page tribute to Sir David Attenborough, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online.
