The popular Prime Video thriller series, We Were Liars, is adding new actors for its second season. The show, based on the novel by E. Lockhart, premiered last year and quickly gained a large following on the streaming platform.
The show was quickly picked up for another season, which will tell the story leading up to the events of the first season. This new season will center on a teenage girl who returns to her wealthy family and attempts to discover what really happened before she lost her memory in an accident.
The cast of the project has grown to include Josh Dallas (known from Once Upon a Time), Costa D’Angelo (Thrash), Parker Lapaine (House of the Dragon), Peyton List (The Rookie), Elysia Roorbach (The Pitt), and Madison Wolfe (The Conjuring: Last Rites).

The cast of the show includes Dallas as a younger version of Harris Sinclair (originally David Morse), Parker as young Carrie (Mamie Gummer), List as young Tipper (Wendy Crewson), Roorbach as young Penny (Caitlin FitzGerald), and Wolfe as young Bess (Candice King).
D’Angelo is described as a college student from New England with a captivating and enigmatic personality, according to Pfeff. Emily Alyn Lind reprises her role as Cadence, returning to Beechwood to face her past.
What to Read Next
The story reveals family secrets surrounding the Sinclair Sisters’ summer of 1999, a time filled with first loves, intense competition, and a shocking murder. Through flashbacks, we see Carrie, Penny, and Bess experience their teenage summer and how it connects to their lives today as they confront their past.
Lockhart previously explained to The Hollywood Reporter that the prequel novel, Family of Liars – the basis for the new series – will show events from the past. She also confirmed that the show will still feature Cadence, Johnny, and the sisters as adults.

Variety praised the first season of We Were Liars as both twisted and compelling, and Paste Magazine recommended it as a must-watch show.
The show feels like a captivating mix of Succession and The White Lotus, offering a thoughtful and articulate perspective on its subject matter.
We Were Liars is streaming on Prime Video now.
