Trump Family May Sue Over ‘Official’ Trump Crypto Wallet?!
Hold onto your hats, folks! The Trump family is allegedly ready to take legal action against Magic Eden’s new “official” Trump crypto wallet. Apparently, someone got the brilliant idea of using the former President’s likeness for a crypto venture — and oh boy, the Trumps are *not* happy about it! 🏛️💰
Trump Family’s Hilarious Denial: “We Had Nothing to Do With It!”
So, get this — the internet exploded this week with news about Magic Eden, the NFT marketplace, teaming up with the TRUMP memecoin squad to roll out the “official” Trump crypto wallet. It was supposed to be the wallet for all the “true Trump fans,” so you can trade not just the beloved TRUMP token, but also Bitcoin! It’s a crypto-lover’s dream… or a total disaster, depending on who you ask. 😜
Magic Eden’s CEO, Jack Lu, chimed in, saying this project is going to revolutionize DeFi and bring clarity to US regulations. Or, you know, it’s just another way to make a ton of money. But don’t get too excited, because here comes the plot twist!
The Trump family quickly distanced itself from the project. Eric Trump, the one who’s totally not running The Trump Organization, took to social media to say he knows *nothing* about the wallet. Nada. Zilch. And, oh, the wallet? Not authorized by the Trump family. So much for that endorsement! 🙄
Donald Trump Jr. also jumped in, announcing that a “real” official Trump wallet is coming soon — via World Liberty Financial, of course. Just in case you were confused about who’s really in charge here. 😆
The drama continued when Eric Trump fired off some texts to The New York Times, making it clear that the Trump family would be “legally challenging” the creation of this rogue crypto wallet. So much for that partnership, huh? 💥
A ‘Bizarre’ Miscommunication or Just a Big Whoopsie?
Then things got even weirder. Eleanor Terret, journalist and podcast host, shared a statement from Magic Eden. Apparently, they still think they have the “official” Trump wallet, as it carries the Trump branding and all that jazz. Magic Eden is so excited about the “much larger project” with $TRUMP that they forgot to check in with the actual Trumps. Whoopsie! 😬
Molly White, the first to report on this, called the whole thing “absolute chaos.” And, she’s not wrong. The Trump memecoin team, Fight Fight Fight LLC, is involved here, but so is the Trump Organization-affiliated CIC Digital. If you’re keeping score at home, things are already messy. 😏
David Schwartz, Ripple’s CTO, jumped in with his two cents. He suggested this whole thing could just be a huge miscommunication. Maybe Fight Fight Fight LLC thought they didn’t need approval from the Trump Organization to launch the wallet. Uh-oh, that’s going to be an awkward dinner! 🍽️
Schwartz’s theory: “Fight Fight Fight LLC could be using its connection to $TRUMP to hook Trump up with other projects…which only help Trump if $TRUMP rises in value. Meanwhile, the Trump Organization might be totally furious!”
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any juicier… the wallet’s official Twitter account got suspended. Guess Magic Eden isn’t getting away with this one so easily. 🍿
