TOWIE original Kirk Norcross reveals his new job as a rubbish collector 11 years after turning his back on fame

Kirk Norcross, who stepped away from the spotlight eleven years ago, has announced he’s now working as a garbage collector.

Former reality TV star, 37, who gained fame on the ITV2 show TOWIE between 2010 and 2013, has started a new business called County Clear Waste, focusing on waste disposal.

This new company provides same-day waste collection services in Norfolk and Suffolk.

The company seems to be just getting off the ground, as their first Instagram post was published in early January.

Even though the business has only been running for about a month, it’s already gained over 1,500 followers.

Kirk isn’t new to running a business; he previously owned and operated a jet-washing company.

In 2020, the former reality TV star announced he’d left the stressful world of fame to start a plumbing business, and he says he’s never been happier.

After leaving the entertainment industry, he started his first business, KN Jet Services in Essex, which specialized in cleaning jets and drains.

Let me tell you, after years in the spotlight, I realized how tough the entertainment industry can really be. It’s a really brutal world, honestly. So, when I decided to step away, one of the first things I did was simplify my life and drastically cut back on spending. It was a really freeing experience, and a necessary one, to be able to build something new on my own terms.

He used to spend lavishly on things like Ferraris, pricey watches, and designer jeans, but now he finds contentment with a simple £20 pair of jeans from Topman.

Living a public life often involves dealing with a lot of negativity and dishonesty. It’s easy to find yourself surrounded by insincere people who are only interested in what you can do for them, and that environment can be really damaging.

It’s a tough world out there, but now I just focus on going to work, staying out of trouble, and making a good living – and I try to do it with a positive attitude.

Kirk alleged in 2024 that producers of the show TOWIE deliberately stirred up conflict for entertainment, and that this caused problems for his family.

The celebrity shared that producers made him date a fellow cast member even though they were both already in relationships. He also claimed they pushed him to film awkward scenes while his grandfather was seriously ill, and prioritized sensationalism and online attention over the well-being of the younger actors.

Kirk, age 35, experienced the heartbreaking loss of his father, Mick, who was 57, to suicide in 2021. Both men had been prominent figures on a popular reality show focused on life in Essex.

He shared on the Strugglers Language podcast that being on the ITV show – made by Lime Pictures – affected his family.

He explained that everything in the first series was staged. He and Amy appeared to be a couple, but he wants to clarify that he is actually single.

While all of this was happening, my grandfather was hospitalized. I had to let the production company know about his illness, as I might need to visit him in the hospital from time to time.

I had recently broken up with Lauren Pope when people immediately started asking about my next relationship, pushing me to find someone new.

Daily Mail contacted Lime Pictures for comment at the time.
