Total War: Medieval 3 lead is “pretty sure” we’ll get the strategy game before Elder Scrolls 6, but hopes Bethesda will prove him wrong: “I need it”

Creative Assembly is working on Total War: Medieval 3, the next installment in the historical strategy series, after a 19-year gap. While it’s still early in development, a studio leader believes it will likely be released before The Elder Scrolls 6 – though he admits he’s more eager to play that game himself!

Roger Collum, the vice president behind the Total War series, recently discussed the announcement of Medieval 3 on the official forums. He acknowledged the game is still several years away, playfully suggesting they’ll likely release it before Elder Scrolls VI (and jokingly challenged Bethesda to prove him wrong!). He emphasized that the team is committed to making the wait worthwhile and wants to deliver a truly exceptional game, with the help of player support.

It’s unclear when the next Elder Scrolls game will be released. While Todd Howard has said most of Bethesda’s developers are currently working on it, he didn’t offer any hints about when we might get a first look or learn more details about the game’s return to Tamriel.

Total War: Medieval 3 is a strong contender to be the next game released, even though some people are hoping for something different. Like the previous game, Medieval 2: Total War, it will be set in the Middle Ages. The development process has faced a few setbacks, but it’s finally making progress.

Collum explains they’ve attempted this project several times, but felt they hadn’t reached a point where they could truly do it well until now. He says creating a compelling game depends on having the perfect combination of a talented team, cutting-edge technology, and a clear vision – all to create a historically immersive and engaging experience for players around the globe.

With Grand Theft Auto 6 scheduled for release next November, all eyes are also on several other highly anticipated games – The Elder Scrolls 6, Total War: Medieval 3, and Half-Life 3. While GTA 6 is likely to be the biggest hit, I believe Total War: Medieval 3, developed by Creative Assembly, has the best chance of being the next major success.
