Tombstone’s Intense Deleted Johnny Ringo Scene About Killing Wyatt Earp Finally Read By OG Star 33 Years Later

Although the movie Tombstone came out over 30 years ago, Michael Biehn recently shared details about a significant deleted scene. The scene would have shown his character, Johnny Ringo, getting his revenge on Wyatt Earp.

In the 1993 film Earp, Kurt Russell’s character kills Curly Bill Brocius, causing Johnny Ringo to become the new leader of the Cowboys.

On his podcast, Just Foolin’ About, Michael Biehn chatted with Stephen Lang, his co-star from Tombstone, and they reminisced about making the movie together.

Biehn at one point showed everyone a deleted scene on his phone. It featured a powerful speech by Ringo, delivered immediately after Curly Bill’s death, where he vows to avenge Curly Bill by getting revenge on Earp for the choice that led to his death.

Reading his lines as Ringo, Biehn delivered the lines, making it clear: “Everyone needs to understand: Wyatt Earp is going to die. I’m in charge now, and I’m telling you, Earp dies. His men too – they all die. Do you understand? We’re going to kill them.”

The actor went on to say, “We’re going to relentlessly pursue and destroy those who harmed Curly Bill, because now is my moment. It’s my time to take action.”

One of the cowboys from the shootout came running over, excitedly exclaiming that he’d seen Wyatt Earp and was going on and on about it.

And Ringo says, “He’s just a man.”

And the Cowboy says, “Well, you didn’t see his face.”

Ringo declares, “Look at me! Everyone needs to understand: Wyatt Earp is finished. I’m in charge now, and I’m telling you, Earp will die, along with his men. They’re all going to die. We’re going to kill them, do you understand? We’ll hunt them down and slaughter them as revenge for what they did to Curly Bill. This is my moment, my time to take control.”

Following Curly Bill’s death, Ringo challenged Earp to a final confrontation. However, when Earp arrived, he faced Doc Holliday instead, and a duel ensued, ultimately leading to Ringo’s death. Earp arrived shortly after, discovering what had happened. He and Doc continued their mission to eliminate the Cowboy gang, and they were successful.

The film Tombstone begins with Wyatt Earp hoping to settle down and enjoy a peaceful life in Arizona. However, he’s soon convinced to confront the dangerous Cowboys Gang – first led by Curly Bill – and is aided in this effort by Doc Holliday and his brothers Virgil and Morgan.

After the Cowboys attempt to ambush Earp, a series of dramatic events begin, driving the conflict between Earp, Doc Holliday, and Ringo throughout the rest of the movie. Curly Bill dies as a result of this setup.

Val Kilmer, Sam Elliott, Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe, Charlton Heston, and many other talented actors—including Biehn, Lang, and Russell—starred in the movie Tombstone. George P. Cosmatos directed the film, which was written by Kevin Jarre.

The movie Tombstone earned $73 million worldwide and has received positive reviews, with a 76% score from critics and a 93% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
