Thor & Steve Rogers Reunite To Fight Doctor Doom In First Official Avengers: Doomsday Trailer

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is preparing for Avengers: Doomsday, which will be a major event as the current storyline, the Multiverse Saga, moves closer to its conclusion.

Well, CinemaCon 2026 is winding down here in Vegas, and Disney just finished their presentation. The big buzz, of course, was Marvel Studios finally giving us a proper look at Avengers: Doomsday. I was there with ScreenRant as they unveiled the first trailer, and let me tell you, it delivered! Here’s what we saw…

Okay, so the trailer opens with a shot of Xavier’s School, and immediately there’s this ominous feeling – someone says, “Something is coming.” Then Charles Xavier gets a vision, a quick flash of light, and boom – we get our first really good look at Doctor Doom! They show off the new Avengers Tower, and it’s packed – the Fantastic Four are there, along with Thor. Thor’s the one who lays it all out, warning everyone about the danger ahead. We get some quick action shots – Thor battling Doom, Shang Chi going toe-to-toe with Gambit, and glimpses of Mystique, Magneto, and Cyclops. The voiceover is Thor, and it’s pretty heavy – he’s talking about how this fight might not have a happy ending for everyone. The tension really ramps up with a close-up of Thor and Doom facing off, and then… wow. Steve Rogers actually pulls Thor’s hammer away from him! It’s a huge moment.

I’ve battled countless warriors, some far more powerful than all of us combined. They faced their deaths bravely, even against foes that didn’t frighten me as much as this one does. Their sacrifices will be meaningless if we can’t put aside our disagreements and unite. If you come back, come back as allies, as family. Believe me, we’re going to need a miracle to get through this.

Avengers: Doomsday releases in theaters on December 18.
