This Oblivion Remastered mod lets you keep everything from mudcrabs to trolls as pets, making Bethesda’s RPG a little less lonely and a lot more Pokemon-y
Nearly a month has elapsed since Bethesda Game Studios unveiled the eagerly anticipated remake, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, allowing ample time for imaginative gamers to develop engaging mods. One such creation that has piqued my interest is Beast Master.
This mod, titled Beast Master, allows players to tame wild animals and turn them into pet companions. Once tamed, you can name these pets, feed them, and even engage in combat with them. It seems like a delightful blend of classic pet games I remember from my childhood, such as Nintendogs, with hints of Pokemon for added fun, all set within the RPG environment of Oblivion Remastered. In simpler terms, this mod sounds incredibly appealing to me.
Yesterday saw the launch of an exciting new mod that has me buzzing – I’m a huge fan of summoning elements in Elder Scrolls games, after all! Although ColdTyrant’s creation isn’t traditional summoning, it offers a similar experience as the beasts you tame can aid you in battles. Moreover, these creatures remain by your side at all times, providing a sense of companionship. The enchantment adds a touch of magic to the gameplay, too – the “Tame Pet” ability is actually a spell!
Unfortunately, at present, it’s only possible to own one pet concurrently; however, ColdTyrant’s recent modification introduces the exciting prospect of selecting from an array of remarkable creatures within Cyrodiil. You can opt for black bears, brown bears, boars, dogs, imps, land dreughs, mountain lions, mudcrabs, rats, timber wolves, trolls, and wolves – all ready to be trained. Notably, any companions you train will progress alongside your character, offering a more harmonious gameplay as you conquer Oblivion Gates together.
What I enjoy most about this mod is the additional “pet menu” feature – it’s a delightful aspect that allows you to instruct your pet to follow or stay, modify their behavior, feed them, rename them, and even interact with them. It might surprise you, but mudcrabs can also be well-behaved pets! Now, if you don’t mind, I need to go download this mod and start taming animals in Cyrodiil.
