This can’t be the last we’ve seen of Voit in Criminal Minds: Evolution

As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours navigating the twists and turns of criminal plots in various video games, I can confidently say that Zach Gilford’s Elias Voit is not done wreaking havoc on Criminal Minds: Evolution just yet. The Season 2 finale was a masterful piece of storytelling, leaving us with more questions than answers about Voit’s future.

Zach Gilford has truly enriched the cast of “Criminal Minds: Evolution” as Elias Voit, a cunning criminal genius who consistently outsmarts others. It’s hard to imagine that his character won’t reappear in the Season 2 finale, let alone be gone for good.

At the close of the episode, Voit was transferred to General Population. This move was a result of agreements made during the season, and Luke suspects there’s a purpose behind it. Despite being a sociable individual, Voit also values solitude as it gives him time to ponder. His desire for this transfer suggests that he’s planning something secretively.

At the end, there seems to be a possibility of something happening. A scuffle breaks out in the laundry room, where Voit is stabbed.

Did Voit plan the attack in Criminal Minds: Evolution?

It’s quite plausible that Voit desired the transfer to General Population for some specific purpose. That purpose seems to be closely tied to his escape from prison. Given his desire to leave the current situation, he’s in search of an exit strategy. Where would security be minimal? A hospital, evidently, offers fewer restrictions.

Sometimes, even though many prisons have on-site healthcare facilities, it may become necessary for inmates like Voit to seek treatment at a regular hospital. Such a situation could arise now, providing him with a chance to temporarily leave jail. The reduced security in hospitals might then offer him an opportunity to make an escape.

It seems that this implies he orchestrated the attack on him within the laundry room. He’d have to identify a couple of inmates who were prepared to extend their imprisonment, which wouldn’t be challenging if someone is currently serving multiple life sentences with no possibility of parole. Subsequently, all the circumstances would need to be arranged to give the impression he was being specifically targeted.

The issue is that he might get hurt while attempting an escape. Instead of getting hospital treatment for the sake of escaping, could it be arranged for him to be transferred somewhere else under the pretext of ensuring his safety, potentially allowing him to make a getaway? It’s plausible that his lawyer, who knows about his questionable dealings requiring immunity, is involved in this plan.

It’s highly unlikely that we’ve seen the end of Voit in “Criminal Minds: Evolution.” I don’t envision them writing him out of the series. Instead, I anticipate a season where Voit goes into hiding or is on the run.
