In Elden Ring Nightreign, FromSoftware gradually enhanced Elden Ring’s controls with extra agility, making players adept at leaping over cliffs, sprinting long distances, and scaling castles. Innovative players have utilized the game’s extensive and lenient climbing system to discover parkour shortcuts across the map, and one player has devised a fresh one that I’ve added to my personal list of handy tricks, just beneath the dependable castle corner jump.
As a fan, I recently came across a thrilling clip shared by Reddit user Scott_Yeung showcasing him gracefully navigating a fortress using the stealthy Revenant character – interestingly, he’s the tiniest playable figure in Nightreign. Considering his size, it seems that having small feet can be quite advantageous when dealing with narrow ledges. He humorously added, “Here’s a shortcut you might not know,” skillfully demonstrating an intricate and seemingly absurd shortcut I haven’t encountered yet. (Unfortunately, Reddit video embeds have been malfunctioning for the past few days.)
“Bro thinks he’s playing Assassin’s Creed,” one player said in the replies.
“OF COURSE I don’t know this shortcut!!” another wrote.
Here’s a simpler way to explain the shortcut: Climb over the debris to the right of the fort’s entrance, use it as a stepping stone to jump onto the narrow stone border around the gate. After that, utilize the stone window and left pillar for a boost, aiming to reach the top of the fort from there. If you get stuck, press the jump button like it’s your ticket out!
Using a quick example, this shortcut provides an impressive showcase of Nightreign’s movement system, however, it has some conditions attached. To begin with, forts that are locked can be scaled easily by simply climbing the interior staircase within the basement, passing the usual merchant spawn area. Secondly, by taking this route, you will miss the location where the treasure chest typically spawns inside. Lastly, due to its simplicity, this shortcut appears highly susceptible to mistakes, and a single fall and retry might actually take longer than following the standard, reliable path up.
If you’re all about speed when battling a fort boss in Nightreign, this strategy would likely be your best bet. However, it’s important to note that I might stumble and make mistakes while implementing it, as it may not align perfectly with my third rule. Yet, without a doubt, I plan on giving it a go the next time I play Nightreign.
