As a die-hard fan of Industry who has been hooked since its debut, I can confidently say that the third season was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride! The unpredictable twists and turns in the relationships and betrayals kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last episode.

In the third part of “Industry,” we were treated to another amazing display, filled once more with unforeseen twists as well as the complex web of betrayals and friendships that unfolded. It’s impossible to guess what will transpire next in this HBO series, and the season 3 finale, released last weekend, was no exception. This time, there were eight episodes, maintaining parity with the previous seasons, which means, regrettably, there won’t be a new episode tonight, October 6th. However, it’s not entirely disappointing news.

On September 19th, ten days before the end of the third season of the Industry, HBO announced that the popular British series would be returning for a fourth season. At the time of renewal, viewership for the third season was almost 40% higher than its second season, which is fantastic news. This renewal is exciting for fans of the Industry who have been captivated by the world of investment banking since the very first episode.

Looking forward, it’s anticipated that this renewal for Industry will draw fresh audiences given its ongoing narrative. The suspenseful finale of season 3 certainly has us on the edge of our seats! So, what lies ahead in the upcoming season of Industry? We’re left with a myriad of questions and theories.

What the season 3 finale of Industry means for season 4

In the season 3 finale of Industry, there were numerous significant events. Was it a shock to you? The relationship between Harper and Petra ended permanently, with Harper expressing her intention to return to New York while still working with Otto. For the first time, we catch glimpses of Jesse Bloom (long-awaited!), learning that he served time in prison and is now out, curious about Harper’s current activities. The Pierpoint firm experiences a massive upheaval as Al-Miraj, an Egyptian company, invests; many employees are let go, among them Eric. In the final moments of the episode, Harper and Eric have a brief phone conversation. As this chapter draws to a close for both characters, we’re left wondering what lies ahead for them. I believe Harper has more potential than Eric in the future.

Yasmin openly declares her affection for Robert, and they share an intimate moment together. However, shockingly, she announces her engagement to Henry on the very same day. I didn’t anticipate this twist, but in hindsight, it makes sense. With no relatives, influence, or wealth of her own, Yasmin is accustomed to a certain lifestyle. Marrying into the influential Henry’s family represents a significant power play and guarantees her a comfortable future. While she may not be in love with Henry, he is bearable for her. And the life he offers is a valuable exchange in her opinion. On the other hand, Robert embarks on a new professional path following his departure from Pierpoint, and he appears optimistic at the end of the series’ finale. I can finally let out a contented sigh!

So what does this all mean for the fourth season? Well, I have a feeling we’re relocating to the States! If Harper actually does move back to New York, we’ll presumably be following her. I hope this also means that Jesse will return and maybe they’ll work together again. I’m particularly very excited about Robert’s storyline in season 4. He’s free from Pierpoint and Yasmin, so nothing is keeping him in London. There could be a place for him in Silicon Valley, or maybe even in New York if having a consistent location is more convenient to write for.

In the upcoming Season 4, it’s highly probable that Yasmin will tie the knot with Henry. Here’s an intriguing speculation: At the end of Season 3, Yasmin lets Robert complete their intimate act within her. Given their unorthodox relationship with Henry, as hinted in earlier episodes, I ponder if Yasmin might be pregnant in Season 4 and pass off the child as Henry’s, when in fact it could be Robert’s. It’s just a theory; she has a history of pulling surprises like this.

It’s quite likely that Eric may move to New York due to his American nationality, but it hinges largely on his children’s circumstances. Despite feeling like he’s ending a chapter in his life by leaving Pierpoint, he has the ability to secure another job easily. I don’t believe he’ll find it difficult to do so.

To wrap things up, I’m curious if Rishi will make an appearance in season 4 at all. In the final episode of season 3, we left him struggling with debt, residing in an apartment, and witnessing his wife Diana being fatally shot. It’s hard for me to accept that such a dramatic event was part of the finale, and it seems like everyone has moved past it too quickly! But if Pierpoint and London are no longer around, where might Rishi fit into season 4? I’m not entirely sure.

Absolutely, do consider my theories as a pinch of salt. The fourth season of “Industry” might turn out quite distinctly, but I’ll continue to speculate until we have more information!
