The Traitors’ Amanda joins other famous Amandas in Amandaland Red Nose Day sketch first look

A special sketch from the BBC comedy Amandaland will be featured as part of Comic Relief’s Funny for Money program on Friday, March 20th, for Red Nose Day.

The comedy sketch starts with Amanda (played by Lucy Punch) and Anne (Philippa Dunne) going to the BBC for a live radio interview with Sara Cox. They’re surprised to find the studio filled with other women named Amanda – many of them famous faces from television.

The new show features a hilarious case of mistaken identity with five famous Amandas: Amanda Collier from The Traitors, Amanda Holden from Britain’s Got Talent, Amanda Lamb from A Place in the Sun, Amanda Barrie from Coronation Street, and Amanda Byram from Dancing with the Stars. It’s set to be wonderfully chaotic and funny!

Lydia West, known for her roles in It’s a Sin and Doctor Who, stars as the stressed-out radio producer, while Lucia Keskin (from Things You Should Have Done) plays the production runner.

Holden said she couldn’t believe she was part of the sketch, especially as a longtime fan of the show. It felt surreal, and even more so because the series frequently references her name.

Sara Cox seemed genuinely thrilled with how everything went. Appearing as herself, she shared that working with the cast was a wonderful experience, and she especially enjoyed working with Barrie, a favorite among viewers from her days on Coronation Street, and Lydia West, making her morning on set particularly special.

Philippa Dunne shared her thoughts on introducing Amanda and Anne to the Comic Relief audience. She explained that the characters feel very natural now, almost like they’re playing themselves, and that contributing to such a worthy cause while having fun was a real joy.
