After spending three weeks isolated in the Australian jungle, Coleen Rooney’s top priority once she got her phone back was simple.
After finishing as the runner-up on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ in 2024, she told me she’d immediately called Wayne as soon as she got in the car.
She didn’t know her husband, back in the UK, had been working hard to rally public support online and on morning TV, urging viewers to make the show’s producers force her to do one of the dreaded Bushtucker Trials – including eating a truly disgusting meal made from blended crocodile anus!
On hearing this, she beamed and admitted: ‘I’m glad he did because I was desperate to do a trial.
Honestly, seeing him just be there wasn’t enough for me. I kept thinking, ‘If I’m making the effort to come all this way, I need to see him really push himself!’ So I was SO relieved when he decided to give it a go – it made the whole trip worthwhile, truly. I’m just so glad he did!
Feeling encouraged by what she’d learned about her husband’s backing, the 39-year-old mother of four decided to share some personal details about their 24-year relationship with the former Manchester United and England player.
She showed how truly connected they are, implying they usually talk to each other all the time.
We used to talk and video chat several times a day, but being in the jungle without that regular communication has been really difficult.
‘Wayne just said how proud he was of me and that he’s never missed me as much as now.

He’d been at a party before the Brit Awards, where the retired soccer player seemed to be enjoying himself. At one point, he struggled to button his trousers while having drinks with the same two women.
Yet sources close to the couple have insist: ‘Wayne hasn’t done anything wrong.’
According to the Daily Mail, the footballer was out with a friend and spoke to a woman, but he returned home by himself.
Coleen understands what’s happening and is very supportive of Wayne. While she’s aware of his struggles with alcohol, she’s upset that people exploit him when he’s vulnerable.

I felt isolated and didn’t feel comfortable reaching out to others. I didn’t want to bother anyone with my problems.
I was stuck in a cycle of heavy drinking. I’d play well on the weekend, scoring goals, but then immediately return to drinking heavily for two days afterward.
‘She’s helped me control that massively. She’s managed me because I needed managing.’
When people ask Coleen about her marriage to Wayne, she always gives a similar response: they’ve faced challenges, but also shared incredible experiences together.
Only two days after photos of Wayne surfaced, Coleen was seen in Cheshire without her wedding ring, leading to speculation that they were separating.
As a longtime follower, I’ve noticed she doesn’t usually wear her ring when she’s working out – pilates or the gym. Apparently, it’s totally normal for her to leave it at home during those times, so it didn’t raise any red flags with people who know her.
