The Project fans call for the panel show to be cancelled after mid-air evacuation sparked chaos and huge show shake-up
As a seasoned lifestyle expert with over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I must say that the recent chaos surrounding The Project has left me less than impressed. Having spent countless hours behind the scenes and in front of cameras, I can attest to the importance of maintaining a sense of professionalism and reliability for viewers.
Following a chaotic evacuation incident on Wednesday, some enthusiasts of the Project are advocating for the suspension of the panel show due to the ensuing disruption.
Instead, an episode of The Dog House Australia aired suddenly on the channel instead of the usual ongoing program, following an unforeseen mid-air evacuation at the Channel 10 studio.
The show needed to suddenly stop, as host Sarah Harris later revealed it was a false alarm due to a faulty smoke detector.
In the midst of disorder, people swiftly took to social platforms to voice their dissatisfaction, urging the program’s permanent removal from broadcast.
Some people even playfully commented that their viewing pleasure was rudely interrupted midway through The Dog House, as The Project resumed its broadcast at a later point during the program.
One user expressed their thoughts directly on Facebook, saying: ‘Permanently keep them away from the screen.’
1. One person remarked, “It’s the most disappointing news program on air right now,” while another casually stated, “I didn’t even realize it had been cancelled!”.
One person lamented, “I thought it had vanished permanently…” and another expressed hope, “Let’s hope and cross our fingers that it’s been permanently canceled.”

1. It’s disheartening; for a moment, I was thrilled, believing that The Project had indeed come to an end, but my hope persists.
On Wednesday evening, during the show, the hosts of the Project had to abruptly leave the Melbourne studio in a hurry because the fire alarm rang unexpectedly.
At exactly 6:49 PM, viewers found themselves puzzled as the program led by Waleed Aly, Sarah Harris, and Sam Taunton inexplicably disappeared during a commercial break, only to be swapped with an airing of The Dog House.
As the series that homes unwanted pooches played across the country, a crawl ran along the bottom of TV screens, updating viewers on the alarming turn of events.
Given some unexpected events, I’m sorry for any inconvenience, but here’s a special viewing of The Dog House instead.
One employee at Channel 10 seized the opportunity presented by the confusion, transforming the uproar into material for their social media platforms.
In the video, we saw a crew member stepping out from Channel 10’s studios while fire trucks arrived, their blinking lights illuminating the scene.
‘The fire alarm has gone off and they’re making us evacuate,’ the crew member began.
It appears that fire safety is being given more priority than entertainment, which I find surprising, they went on as they descended the fire escape.
‘But keep in mind that it’s the showbiz rules of evacuation, which means it’s children and celebrities first, then normals.

‘So, Waleed and Sarah, they’ve been choppered out of here while we’re taking the stairs.’
Afterward, I found myself dashing along the street and swiftly hopping into an elevator, all in the pursuit of making my way back to the studio.
At 7:10 PM, the Project resumed its live airtime, where the hosts shared a summary of events that occurred during the extended intermission.
‘There was a fire alert in our building and we had to leave,’ Aly explained.
‘Not just leave, we had to run,’ Sarah interjected.
‘Who drew up our fire plan? We met up a kilometre away,’ Aly asked, joking at the turn of events.
Later in the episode, Jamie Oliver was quick to take the mickey out of the mishap.
Initially, allow me to express my apologies for the false alarm; apparently, I had someone prepare hors d’oeuvres and unintentionally triggered it instead. The famous chef quipped humorously about the situation.
An official from Fire and Rescue Victoria stated that they were called out due to a mistake – a smoke detector had malfunctioned, causing a false alarm.
