The Odyssey New Trailer

The Odyssey has teased even more of its massive journey.

A recent trailer for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming fantasy film debuted at CinemaCon, offering more information about Odysseus’s long journey home. The movie, based on the classic Greek story The Odyssey, stars Matt Damon as Odysseus and follows his adventures with his crew after the Trojan War.

Now, Universal has released a new trailer for The Odyssey at CinemaCon. Check out a description from the event below:

Okay, so the movie opens with this really striking image – wreckage at sea, and Matt Damon washed up, clearly hurt and with total amnesia. He can’t even remember if he has a family! Then we cut to Tom Holland at dinner with Jon Bernthal, and Bernthal is asking him about this legend involving a giant horse. And then… there it is. This massive wooden horse, partially submerged in water. Damon’s inside it, and it’s incredibly tense. We see hundreds of people struggling to drag this thing across brutal terrain, and the crowd is going wild. While all that’s happening, Damon’s listening to the commotion from inside the horse, looking up at the wooden ceiling. Suddenly, a guy starts stabbing at the horse with a sword, checking for anyone hidden inside, and actually hits someone in the eye! They don’t even realize there are people in there. The crowd gets more and more restless. Then, it’s nighttime, and the horse is displayed within the kingdom. Damon and his soldiers manage to escape and start moving through the city streets, taking out guards quietly with arrows and swords. But stealth doesn’t last, and soon the alarm is raised. They fight off the immediate guards, but one of their own falls. They push open the city’s massive gates, and hundreds of soldiers flood in, screaming and armed to the teeth. There’s this one guy at the back, though, wearing much shinier armor than everyone else… and then we get a quick glimpse of the rest of the cast – Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, and a whole ensemble of faces. It’s setting up to be epic!

More to come…
