February brings a lot of exciting new and returning TV shows, perfect for adding to your watchlist. Highlights include a high-quality drama coming to BBC on Sundays (from the creator of the popular Netflix series Adolescence) and the latest comedy from the team behind Derry Girls.
Here’s what you need to watch out for this month, across streaming, BBC One and ITV.

Lord of the Flies
When is it on? Premiering on 8 February at 9pm on BBC One.
What to Read Next
The famous novel Lord of the Flies, about a group of boys stranded on a deserted island, is being adapted for television by the BBC – a first for the story. The series promises to be a large-scale production, coming from Jack Thorne, who created Adolescence, and will feature music by Hans Zimmer.
The story begins with optimism but quickly descends into tragedy, following the group’s struggle to maintain order and work together, as hinted at in the show’s description. The BBC drama features a new generation of actors portraying the iconic characters from the novel, with Winston Sawyers (known for The Crow Girl) playing Ralph, Lox Pratt as Jack, and David McKenna as Piggy.

Betrayal
When is it on? Premiering on 8 February at 9pm on ITV.
ITV’s latest thriller stars Shaun Evans, known for Vigil, and Zahra Ahmadi from Beyond Paradise. The show focuses on MI5 officer John Hughes, and Evans has called it a captivating story told from two different perspectives.
David Eldridge, the writer of the 2015 drama The Scandalous Lady W featuring Natalie Dormer, also wrote this four-part series.

How to Get to Heaven from Belfast
When is it on? Arriving to Netflix on 12 February.
The new comedy-thriller series comes from Lisa McGee, the creator of Derry Girls, and features several members of the original show’s team.
The series How to Get to Heaven from Belfast follows three women in their late 30s who have been friends since school as they begin a life-changing journey. The show stars Sinéad Keenan (known from Unforgotten), Caoilfhionn Dunne (A Thousand Blows), and Roisin Gallagher (The Dry), alongside Michelle Fairley (Gangs of London), Josh Finan (Say Nothing), and Emmett J Scanlan (Kin).

Bridgerton season 4, part 2
When is it on? Arriving to Netflix on 26 February.
If you’ve already finished the first part of Bridgerton season four, you’ll have to be patient! The remaining episodes won’t be released until later this month, so we’ll just have to deal with wanting more.
The story follows Sophie (Yerin Ha), a servant who catches the eye of Benedict Bridgerton, much like the classic Cinderella tale. The first part ended on a cliffhanger with that memorable scene on the staircase, and viewers are eager to see what happens next – both with Sophie and Benedict, and with other characters like Kanthony and Francesca, especially as she reconnects with Micheala.

Vanished
When is it on? Arriving to Prime Video (via MGM+) in the UK on 27 February.
Sam Claflin, known for his role in Peaky Blinders, and Kaley Cuoco, from The Flight Attendant, star together in this exciting new thriller.
During a romantic getaway to Paris, Alice’s boyfriend, Tom, vanishes on a train trip, throwing her into a dangerous mystery. As she searches for him, she begins to discover unsettling truths about the man she believed she loved.

Paradise, season 2
When is it on? Arriving to Disney+ on 23 February.
The popular sci-fi thriller, starring Sterling K. Brown of This Is Us and created by Dan Fogelman, is back this month. We called it “shockingly addictive” when it first came out, and fans have been eagerly awaiting its return ever since. The new season picks up right after the events of the first season’s finale.
The new season isn’t just focused on the bunker anymore! Xavier is venturing out to find Teri and discovering how others have managed to survive the three years since the catastrophic event known as ‘The Day’. Meanwhile, back in Paradise, the community is starting to fall apart, and the city’s hidden history is being revealed, as shown in the recently released season two trailer.

The Last Thing He Told Me, season 2
When is it on? Arriving to Apple TV on 20 February.
After nearly three years, the sequel to this popular thriller – adapted from Laura Dave’s 2021 book – is finally arriving. Fans have been eagerly anticipating its release.
Season two follows Hannah and her stepdaughter Bailey as they’re unexpectedly visited by Owen, who has been hiding for five years. They try to rebuild their family, but must also confront secrets from Owen’s past that threaten to destroy everything.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-colour magazine celebrating Taylor Swift, is now available! You can find it in newsagents or order it online for only £8.99.
