The GO Pass is back in Pokémon GO, but not everyone has the same rewards

The GO Pass is back for a test in selected regions.

Niantic has reintroduced the GO Pass in Pokémon GO for a trial run in specific regions throughout the month. Essentially, this is similar to a Battle Pass in Pokémon GO, which was first introduced during the Unova Tour event. It’s a well-liked feature as it offers both veteran and new players something to strive for, rewarding them with various perks.

It appeared unavoidable that the Pass would reappear in some capacity. Now, it’s been confirmed that Niantic is experimenting with the Pass throughout the month of April. However, not all trainers can access the Pass yet, and some are encountering different variations of the GO Pass as well.

In this section, you’ll find comprehensive information about it – with multiple variations presented during the testing process.

Different Trainers will see different versions of the Pokémon GO Pass

Different types of GO Passes exist, each offering varying rewards such as PokéCoins or a different number of levels. Some trainers are given different versions to test which Pass type, pricing, and mechanics work best for the global launch. This affects both the standard GO Pass and the optional premium GO Pass Deluxe.

Trainers might see:

  • An additional encounter on certain ranks of the GO Pass Deluxe
  • Modified item rewards on certain ranks of the GO Pass Deluxe
  • Stickers as a reward on certain ranks of the GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe
  • PokéCoins as a reward on certain ranks of the GO Pass
  • Fewer overall ranks of the GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe

Although it may seem puzzling now if your friends receive varying rewards, this won’t last indefinitely. This situation is designed as a test for our collective future, aiming to deliver an optimal experience for everyone involved. Fortunately, every Paid pass will ultimately grant you the Lucky Trinket, and all free GO Pass versions offer an encounter with Xerneas.

Bonuses avaliable

There are also bonuses avaliable this month across all versions. They are as follows:

  • Tier 1: 2× Daily Adventure Incense duration
  • Tier 2: Increased XP and Stardust from Research Breakthrough rewards
  • Tier 3: Increased Stardust and XP from hatching Eggs

The extended burn time of Double Daily Adventure Incense is thrilling for those on the hunt for Shiny Galarian Birds.
