After the updated release of *The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion* earlier this year, fans are even more eager for the next *Skyrim* game, known as *The Elder Scrolls 6*. It’s been seven years since Bethesda initially announced the game – the same amount of time that passed between the announcement of *Skyrim* and its actual release. That means it’s been 14 years since *Skyrim* came out, and Bethesda still hasn’t shared any updates about *The Elder Scrolls 6*. Despite the silence, a new report has surfaced with some interesting details.
Industry insider eXtas1s, known for accurate Xbox and Bethesda information, recently shared an update on *The Elder Scrolls 6*. While he didn’t reveal many details, he indicated that Bethesda Game Studios and Xbox are aiming for a 2027 release. If this is accurate, the game could be available in as little as 27 months, potentially even sooner – possibly as early as October or November 2027.

If *The Elder Scrolls 6* comes out in 2027, we’ll almost certainly see an announcement next year, likely at Xbox’s June press conference – they hold one every year. There’s also been talk that a new trailer is already finished and ready to be shown.
Rumors suggest that *The Elder Scrolls 6* will likely be set in Hammerfell, and possibly also include High Rock. While the setting hasn’t been officially confirmed, we expect a reveal trailer this summer to provide details. Beyond the location, very little is known about the game, except that a former BioWare writer has joined the development team.
Keep in mind that this information should be viewed with some skepticism. While eXtas1s has been accurate sometimes in the past, his predictions aren’t always guaranteed. Plus, even if this information is correct now, things could still change.
