News about The Elder Scrolls 6 is rare, but Bethesda recently offered a small update on the highly anticipated game. Since its initial announcement in 2018, Bethesda has been largely quiet about the project. While it’s good they haven’t promised a release date and then delayed it, fans are eager for more details.
In an interview with GameInformer, Todd Howard, the director of The Elder Scrolls 6, said the game is making good progress. He mentioned that the majority of the team at Bethesda is currently working on it, but that the studio often works on multiple projects at the same time.
Bethesda Studio Design Director Emil Pagliarulo says the team doesn’t feel rushed by player expectations. They’re committed to taking however long necessary to ensure the game is truly excellent.
Bethesda Isn’t Rushing The Elder Scrolls 6
A Long Road Back To Tamriel

Bethesda understands fans are eager for The Elder Scrolls 6, but they won’t rush development. According to Todd Howard, they ‘wish the process were quicker – much quicker, even – but they’re committed to getting it right’.
Studio Director Angela Browder highlighted the exciting potential of the game’s development. She believes features like the technology, graphics, and overall creative freedom will make The Elder Scrolls 6 a hit with fans. Currently, she describes the project as having “endless possibilities.”
The Elder Scrolls 6 Timeline Is Still Unclear
Bethesda Might Have A Lot In The Works

These recent updates make it pretty clear that The Elder Scrolls 6 is likely still a ways off. Todd Howard, Emil Pagliarulo, and Bruce Browder are all stressing that they’re prioritizing quality and aren’t close to finishing the game yet.
The fact that multiple projects are in development hints that Bethesda is working on more than just The Elder Scrolls 6. This could include things like the expected Fallout 3 remaster, or it might mean they’ve already started planning a brand new large-scale game, possibly Fallout 5.
Even a small update is good news when you’re waiting for a game. Development on The Elder Scrolls 6 is still happening, which is encouraging, especially with other big games like the Perfect Dark reboot and a Wonder Woman game being cancelled. After Starfield didn’t quite meet expectations, it’s crucial that Bethesda delivers a great Elder Scrolls 6.
