- So read our step-by-step guide to connecting a controller and enjoy a new combat experience.
The Division Resurgence is a third-person shooter RPG that emphasizes smart tactics, choosing the right gear, and accurate aiming. Players will battle enemy groups in a dynamic, shared open-world version of New York City as they advance. The game also offers controller support for those who prefer it over touch controls.
This guide will show you how to connect and customize a controller for The Division Resurgence. You’ll learn the button layout and how to adjust settings to play your best, whether you’re defending or attacking. Using a controller can make your movement smoother, help you control your weapon’s recoil, and improve how quickly you react in the game.
Controller Support for The Division Resurgence and how to play
I’m really excited to get into The Division Resurgence! You can play with either a controller or mouse and keyboard, and thankfully, once you get everything set up, the controller works perfectly throughout the game. But before I dive in, I wanted to figure out all the details, so let’s go through the setup process together, step by step.
Connect your controller through Bluetooth
Okay, so getting a controller working is actually super easy! You don’t need to download anything extra. I’ve been using my Xbox controller β or any similar Bluetooth one, really β by just connecting it directly to my phone. Here’s what I did to set it up…
- Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.
- Put your Xbox controller into pairing mode.
- Select the controller from your deviceβs Bluetooth menu.
- Confirm the connection.
Once your controller is connected, you usually don’t need to change any other settings in the game. However, you can go to Settings, then Generic Settings, and enable ‘Controller UI’ to make the on-screen combat controls work better with your controller.
