The CW premiere of WWE NXT was a major success
As a gamer who’s spent countless hours navigating the virtual wrestling universe, I can confidently say that the CW premiere of WWE NXT was a knockout! It felt like stepping into a PLE (Pay-Per-View Event) without breaking my bank. The ratings speak for themselves – it’s been a while since we saw numbers this impressive!
On October 1st, WWE NXT began a fresh chapter. The inaugural episode of NXT on The CW Network felt much like a special WWE event. By every standard, this program was a hit not just for that night, but it set the stage for the brand’s future.
Despite TV ratings being an outdated method for assessing TV impact, the October 1 episode of WWE NXT was an impressive show. As per Wrestlenomics, it attracted 895,000 viewers, which marks the highest viewership since October 10, 2023. For those who enjoy debating TV ratings on social media, this was undoubtedly a victory in every sense.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but praise the exceptional job WWE NXT did during those two hours. In essence, it felt like they were welcoming us into the world of WWE NXT, offering a comprehensive introduction to all its aspects. By the time the night ended, even those who might not be well-versed in the product now have a clear idea of who the key personalities are that we should keep our eyes on moving forward.
All the NXT championships were featured in some fashion. There were two title matches, and each of the other title holders were on screen either in vignettes or in-ring segments. Along with them, several other performers were cemented as threats to the title or names to watch. WWE even hinted at the debut of DELTA, which is seemingly set for October 27, which is scheduled for the next edition of Halloween Havoc.
As a dedicated gamer of WWE action, let me tell you, from the very first episode on The CW, WWE NXT felt every bit as massive and crucial as Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. It’s like this “developmental” brand finally stepped into the spotlight, and boy, does it shine!
The debut of WWE NXT on The CW was a significant triumph. This victory is expected to generate some positive momentum for the entire brand as it moves towards its transition to Netflix in 2025. By the end of the night, every performer felt like a key player not just for NXT’s future, but also for WWE as a whole.
