Andy Serkis will be back as Alfred Pennyworth in the next Batman movie, joining Robert Pattinson who will return as Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman.
The new Batman movie is a sequel to the 2022 film, and Matthew Reeves returns as director. He collaborated with Mattson Tomlin to write the screenplay.
The movie, scheduled to come out in October 2027, will feature more of Andy Serkis as Alfred, Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler.

According to Deadline, a scheduling issue between The Batman: Part II and Andy Serkis’ upcoming Lord of the Rings film, The Hunt for Gollum, has been worked out. Serkis is now confirmed to appear in the DC movie, which begins filming in London in June.
The actor won’t be starting work on the movie right away, as he explained to ScreenRant. He said he’ll join the production later this year, but not at the beginning.

Not much is known about the story of the new Batman movie, but the lead actor, Robert Pattinson, has described the script as being very intense and unusual.
“I mean, the script is so good…. I think it’s kind of crazy,” he told Filme Gitmeden Önce.

The first Batman film we got was already a bit of a departure, but this new one? It’s really different! I honestly think fans are going to be really happy with what we’ve done, and I’m super excited for everyone to see it.
I’m really hoping this sequel lives up to the hype! I know the script took a long time to get right – that’s why the release date kept getting pushed. It was originally supposed to come out in October 2025, then moved to 2026, and now it’s not coming until October of next year. So, yeah, a lot is riding on this one!
When asked about the hold-ups by The Hollywood Reporter last year, Reeves explained that many factors were contributing to the delays, but assured fans that filming would begin in 2026.
He said the focus for the next year is finally starting production on the movie, and they’re very enthusiastic about it.
The Batman: Part 2 is set to be released in cinemas on 1 October 2027.
I’m so excited! The latest issue of Living Legends is out, and it’s a beautiful, full-colour tribute to Sir David Attenborough! It’s 100 pages long and you can grab a copy at any newsagent or order it online. Definitely checking this out!
