TFT patch 16.4 notes: New augments, Aatrox buffs, Aurelion Sol updates, and more

Riot Games has announced what’s coming in the next update for Teamfight Tactics (TFT). Here’s a breakdown of the changes in TFT patch 16.4.

TFT patch 16.4 release date

According to the 2026 TFT update schedule, the release date for TFT patch 16.4 is Feb. 4.

TFT patch 16.4 notes

TFT patch 16.4, according to Rodger Caudill and Katie Guo, aims to balance the game’s economy boosts, which have been leading to players getting high-tier units too easily. As the set is now halfway through, updates are smaller and focus on ensuring multiple ways to achieve a strong finish – specifically, reaching the top four.

Teamfight Tactics patch 16.4 notes

Here’s a summary of the changes in TFT patch 16.4. Several units are getting stronger, including Bard, Xin Zhao, Jhin, Darius, Gwen, Ambessa, Lissandra, Draven, Ornn, Sylas, T-Hex, and Tristana. Sona, Rift Herald, and Yunara are being slightly weakened. Riot is focusing on making Aatrox builds that use Omnivamp more effective, so his one-star version is getting a big boost, while his two-star version will be a bit less powerful to balance things out. Aurelion Sol is also receiving minor improvements.

Although recent changes in patch 16.3 improved Aurelion Sol, players are abandoning his team compositions too quickly, and reaching those powerful late-game team levels is proving difficult. To address this, we’re allowing him to gain initial upgrades more easily, but we’re delaying his two strongest upgrades to balance things out and make his ultimate ability’s black hole upgrade a bit more accessible.

TFT Revival Festival of Beasts patch notes

TFT patch 16.4 includes changes to the Festival of Beasts game mode. Riot Games wants to ensure all team types are equally strong, so they’re boosting many of them. However, Shyvana and Olaf are being slightly weakened because they were too powerful.
