Tencent unveils Virtual Circle, an action strategy idol girl-themed title now open for pre-registration in China
As a die-hard fan of both strategy games and idol culture, I can hardly contain my excitement for Tencent Games’ upcoming masterpiece, Virtual Circle! Having grown up immersed in the vibrant worlds of K-Pop, J-Pop, and C-Pop, I’ve always yearned for a game that seamlessly blends the charm of idol entertainment with the thrill of strategic combat.
Tencent Games recently unveiled the initial gameplay trailer for their innovative action-strategy game titled “Virtual Circle,” which can also be referred to as “Virtual Hub” or “Virtual Ring.” This captivating title merges idol girl themes with high-intensity combat, and Chinese pre-registration is now available.
Virtual Circle from Tencent aims to bank on the idol-loving audience
Being an ardent follower of idols, particularly those who shine brightly in the entertainment industries of Korea, Japan, and China, this game is tailor-made for fans like me. Crafted by Tencent’s Content Development Department (CDD), it shares some resemblance with “Uma Musume Pretty Derby,” a game featuring horse girls. However, it lacks the high-octane action found in Virtual Circle, offering a more relaxed gaming experience.
In this adventure, you assume the position of a secretive detective, who is responsible for creating, nurturing, and overseeing a group of enigmatic idols, preparing them to compete in the VFC Strongest Idol Competition. As you navigate through the game’s world, you will discover its hidden secrets and dark undercurrents. This engaging title combines elements from various genres, with virtual idols at its core, while seamlessly integrating business simulation and urban fantasy aspects.
In the trailer, it appears that you’ll join forces with three others to engage in fictitious anchor fights within a virtual setting. Instead of changing strategies on the fly, you’ll need to adapt your tactics during the performance of battles. The game’s visuals are stunning, and it seems that switching characters is integrated into the gameplay progression as well.
The PV (Video) features well-known V-shaped anchors, such as the virtual likeness of renowned actor Cai Ming’s character “Nanaizi”, in addition to other prominent figures like Xingtong, Nanami, LuLu, Shanbao, and A-Soul group members.

If you’re currently in China, you can pre-register for the game via the Haoyou Kuaidao app store. This app will keep you informed when tests are conducted. Unfortunately, there’s no detailed information available yet about the English and global versions of the game. We don’t know what the game will be like or when it will be released on a global scale.
