‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Release Date Teased by Hannah Waddingham

Fans have been wondering about the release date for Ted Lasso Season 4, and now there’s finally some news! Even though Season 3 was originally advertised as the end, the popular Apple TV+ show starring Jason Sudeikis is coming back for more episodes.

Hannah Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Welton on Ted Lasso, recently hinted at what’s coming in Season 4 during an interview with Deadline at the BAFTA awards. She described the new season as “a whole different deal,” particularly involving the team, referred to as the Lady Greyhounds, and expressed excitement for fans to see it.

According to Hannah Waddingham, the fourth season of Ted Lasso might premiere in August, though she wasn’t entirely sure and quickly questioned herself. While Apple TV hasn’t confirmed a specific date, they have indicated the new season will arrive sometime this summer.

The fourth season of Ted Lasso will feature Ted coaching a women’s professional soccer team in a lower league. Most of the main cast, including Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift, will be back. However, Phil Dunster, who played Jamie Tartt, won’t be returning. Also, Grant Feely will be taking over the role of Ted’s son, Henry, replacing Gus Turner.

Although the show is confirmed for a fourth season, Hannah Waddingham has expressed willingness to come back for additional seasons, stating:

Honestly, I could play this role forever – I’d do it even when I’m old and need a walking frame! I just adore it. I’m completely captivated by my character, Rebecca Welton, and the writing is truly exceptional. Jason Sudeikis and the whole writing team work together seamlessly, like a perfectly oiled machine. What’s even better is how subtly they weave in these really meaningful life lessons – it’s just brilliant.

Given that the first season of Ted Lasso premiered on August 14, 2020, an August 2026 release date for Season 4 would be a fitting choice. The second season aired from July to October 2021, and the third ran from March to May 2023. Because 2026 has the same calendar layout as 2020, launching the relaunched series on the anniversary of the first season’s debut would feel particularly appropriate.
