Taylor Frankie Paul sends message to Bachelorette contestant Doug Mason after he sent ‘prayers’ to her amid cancellation

Taylor Frankie Paul responded to Doug Mason, a contestant from The Bachelorette, after he shared his reaction to ABC canceling her season of the show.

As a huge fan of the show, I was completely shocked when Season 22 was cancelled so suddenly last week. Apparently, footage from 2023 surfaced showing Paul, one of the contestants, getting into a really bad argument with his then-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, and throwing chairs. It was serious enough for the network to pull the whole season – I was really looking forward to it, but I understand they had to do what they did.

On Friday, Mason, 28, shared a video on Instagram expressing support for Taylor. He said he was sending her prayers because something special – her moment to shine – had been unfairly taken away from her.

‘…All we can do right now is just be hopeful, and I am headed off to run to watch the sunrise.’

The video was reposted by the Instagram account @stephwithdadeets, and Paul left a comment saying, ‘I really feel for him. That’s so sweet.’

This follows a major spoiler dropped by Steve Carbone, a pop culture commentator known online as @realitysteve, who claimed Mason would win season 22.

Paul, known from the Hulu reality show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, was recently revealed as the next star of The Bachelorette.

Throughout the show’s four seasons, viewers have seen the ups and downs of her complicated relationship with Dakota.

A long-running conflict between the couple became public on Thursday with the online release of video footage from a 2023 argument.

Oh my god, you will NOT believe what I saw in this footage! It’s Paul – completely wasted, I mean totally – and he’s going after Viggo Mortensen! He actually tried to get Viggo in a headlock, can you imagine?! And then… and then he grabbed a metal barstool and just… went at him with it! It was insane, honestly. I’ve watched it like, twenty times.

The video also shows her eight-year-old daughter, Indy, crying and huddled on the couch.

According to the police report, the five-year-old child was struck during the fight and suffered a bump on her head.

I’ve been following this case closely, and it’s come out that a previously unreleased video was used as evidence when Paul was charged with aggravated assault. Thankfully, it didn’t go to trial – she ended up taking a plea deal and received three years of probation, which is set to finish in August. I’m just glad it’s nearing a resolution.

On Friday, a court in Utah issued a temporary restraining order against the TikTok star after Mortensen stated she was an ‘immediate threat’ to his safety.

A court order issued Friday in Salt Lake City and first obtained by the Daily Mail prevents Paul from contacting Mortensen and their two-year-old son, Ever, until a hearing on April 7th.

As part of the agreement, prosecutors dismissed four other charges, such as domestic violence witnessed by a child, child abuse, and property damage.

After the video was released by TMZ, there was significant public criticism, and ABC decided to cancel her season of The Bachelorette only three days before the premiere.

The mom-of-three had been in New York promoting the show when it was sensationally pulled by ABC.

Disney announced they are pausing the new season of The Bachelorette following the release of a recent video. Their priority right now is supporting the affected family.

Canceling the show could cost ABC as much as $28 million. Each episode of The Bachelorette costs around $2 million to film.
