Here lies the comprehensive guide for completing the I See a Darkness side quest in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.

How To Complete I See a Darkness Quest in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon

Talk to Betrys at the Village

As I delve into the remote Village nestled within the Horns of the South’s southwest, I can’t help but notice a woman named Betrys tending to a man in a cage nearby. Engaging her in conversation, I learn about an eerie dream that’s been haunting the villagers. She shares her heartache, as her loved one, Col, has been jailed after biting one of the guards due to these bizarre dreams. To embark on this quest, I opt for the dialogue option concerning their encampment, where the source of these unsettling dreams lies.

Reach the Camp and Sleep in the Bed

Betrys shares that their settlement is situated in proximity to an enigmatic edifice known as Archspire. Follow the quest symbol to navigate your way to this camp, nestled close to King’s Road. Within the camp, you’ll come across a Corpse Eater. Overcome this creature and then approach the bed nearby for some rest. This action transports you to an unusual realm—the origin of the perplexing sickness.

Confront Abhartach

In your journey through this peculiar dimension, you’ll come across the eerie cries of a being named Abhartach, who implores for aid. Keep an eye out for a guidepost to find Abhartach. When you encounter him, you’ll be given two options upon interaction:

  • Let Abhartach bite you: It dies from your blood.
  • Refuse the request: This triggers a battle with Abhartach. However, it doesn’t pose a threat and can be taken out easily.

No matter what you decide, Abhartach perishes, and the origin of the sickness is eradicated. Retrieve the Fore-Dweller’s Trinket from its body and proceed towards the exit by following the guidepost within this dimension.

Return to Betrys

After leaving the mysterious world behind, make your way back to Betrys. She’ll inform you that the Keeper has healed, but Col is slipping into madness. You’re praised for eliminating the source, and her gratitude is evident – wrapping up the quest. If your Spirituality level is high, you can persuade Betrys to alleviate Col’s distress, earning extra gold and experience points as a reward.
