In the game Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, there’s an intriguing mission titled Age of Excuse. This mission may seem peculiar when you first encounter it. It’s entirely up to you whether you choose to embark on this quest or not. If, however, your goal is to acquire a Soulstone and 900 XP, then you’ve found the right spot.
The goal of your journey is quite straightforward: locate a knight and offer him some aid in the form of a potion. To prevent you from getting lost on the map, we’ve prepared this handy guide for you.
Completing Age of Excuse in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
To start your adventure, head to Berach, who is the quest initiator in Age of Excuse. You can locate him in the “Horns of the South” region. He’ll be sitting under a bridge that spans over King’s Road.
1. Be patient and understanding when Berach expresses his fears or concerns.
2. Respond positively to any requests he makes, even if they don’t seem relevant to your quest.
3. Avoid confrontational or dismissive language, as this may further agitate him.
4. Show empathy towards his situation and offer words of encouragement when appropriate.
5. If given a choice between multiple responses, select the option that seems most comforting or supportive.
- “If you’re so afraid, maybe you really should stay here.”
- “About the curse – Where did it come from?”
- “Can I help you in any way?”
- “No problem, I’ll return with an answer.”
As you ask your questions, you’ll find yourself approaching the fortress known as the Horns of the South, situated southwest on the King’s Road. From there, journey south towards the Druidic Shrine on the beach. Follow the coastline and head west from the shrine until you spot a cave-in cliffside area where Druid Drest is taking a rest. Being somewhat sarcastic, he may require you to ask about the curse first. You might need to share some food with him using an in-game dialogue option before he discloses that there’s no curse. To help Knight Berach, who is quite paranoid, concoct the Disgusting Health Potion as a deceptive remedy.
How To Make the Disgusting Health Potion
You’ll need three components to brew the concoction: Spirit (twice required), Sage (five portions), and a Grindylow Tooth (one piece). You can acquire the first two items from any alchemist or by exploring in the Horns of the South fort. However, the Grindylow Tooth is only obtainable by killing Grindylows. They don’t often drop teeth, but if you head to Archspire, you’ll likely find some there. These creatures aren’t too challenging to defeat. Once slain, they may drop a tooth, which is what you need. After crafting the potion at an alchemy table, take it back to Berach.
