Sweetpea Season 2 Finally Confirms Release Window

As a huge fan, I’m so excited to finally hear that Starz and Sky have announced the premiere date for the second season! They’ve even dropped a first look at Ella Purnell, and she looks amazing. Can’t wait!

According to reports, the second season of Sweetpea is scheduled to arrive in 2026, though a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet. A new photo from the upcoming season features Ella Purnell, who returns as Rhiannon, the chilling serial killer from the show. In the image, she’s holding a ketchup bottle, and the word “monster” is playfully written on the wall behind her with the condiment. You can see the photo below.

What Happens in Sweetpea Season 2?

In season two of Sweetpea, Rhiannon is juggling a new job, a tempting new romance, and a dangerous copycat killer who’s determined to reveal her secrets. As the stakes rise, she begins to wonder if her ex-boyfriend, AJ, was right about her – is she truly a monster?

The cast for the new season is set! Rish Shah, known for his role in Ms. Marvel, will play Gabriel, a love interest for Rhiannon. Tamsin Greig, from The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, joins the cast as Liv, AJ’s mother. New additions also include Taj Atwal (Riot Women) as Freya, Rhiannon’s boss at the Carnsham Gazette, and Jenny Walser (Heartstopper) as Daisy, a new friend.

Season 2 of Sweetpea will also feature returning cast members Jon Pointing (known for Big Boys), Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso), Leah Harvey (Foundation), Ingrid Oliver (Thursday Murder Club), Nitin Ganatra (Sexy Beast), and Alexandra Dowling (Game of Thrones), reprising their roles as Craig, Norman, Marina Farrar, Diana St. John, Rory, and Seren, respectively.

Sweetpea Was Meant to Be a Miniseries

The TV series Sweetpea, created by Kirstie Swain, is adapted from CJ Skuse’s 2017 novel. It first aired in 2024 as a six-part miniseries on Sky Atlantic and Starz. The show quickly became popular with both viewers and critics. Because of its success, a second season was commissioned, even though it was initially intended to be a single season only.

The first season was a huge hit, immediately grabbing viewers and making it easy to watch all six episodes at once. The second season is expected to be just as captivating, and filming finished in November 2025. Ella Purnell hinted that it will be even better than the first, building excitement for its release.

Honestly, I’m completely wiped out, but it was all worth it! This season was absolutely wild. Looking back at Season 1, it feels so small and simple compared to everything that happened this time around. There’s just so much going on, it’s huge!

Sweetpea is , with Season 2 set to arrive later in 2026.
