Strictly Come Dancing star Nick Knowles shares health update hours before the show after his fate in the competition was revealed
As a seasoned dance enthusiast and someone who has been following Strictly Come Dancing for years, I must say that I am rooting for Nick Knowles to recover swiftly and gracefully. His enthusiasm and determination are truly inspiring, and it’s heartening to see him trying to push through despite his injury.
Strictly Come Dancing’s Nick Knowles has shared a health update just hours ahead of Saturday’s show after it was confirmed he’d be performing.
On his way to celebrate his 62nd birthday, the DIY SOS host found himself in a sweat due to an injury he received while attempting to change a tire after his car malfunctioned.
En route to the studios, Nick shared on Instagram that today is the day of the show, and he’s spent the past two days mastering the dance routine as best as he can.
I’ll put my heart and soul into it tonight, aiming for a top-notch performance. My partner, Luba Mushtuk, has truly outdone herself with the incredible choreography.
‘All I have to do now is perform it, It’s been a tough week but I’m very excited to dance later this evening and don’t worry about me, shoulder getting stronger every single day’.
‘Thank you for all your wishes of support and all the love that’s been sent and remember, I’m in the bottom four because of last week. If I don’t dance well tonight I could be in trouble so please vote to keep me and Luba in the competition!’
Show producers have granted Nick permission to come back for week two, a move reinforced by his widespread appeal among audiences, as he’ll be partnering with professional dancer Luba Mushtuk.
According to a source, Nick and Luba have adopted an “the show must go on” mentality, and they were overjoyed when approval was granted. They’re planning to even attempt a lift in the performance.
Nick has been informed by Luba that the move in their routine, which she had initially planned, can now be made safe for him. As a result, they will continue with this particular move. Nick is eager to comply because he doesn’t want to receive any undeserved sympathy votes.
With the news that he can perform this week, he is fully committed to giving his best and pulling out all stops. He intends to put every ounce of effort into his performance.
They are currently practicing at Elstree to catch up for the time they’ve missed this week.
Janette Manrara, a previous professional on Strictly, verified that the show’s presenter will continue with the program and will host this week’s edition of It Takes Two on Thursday.
After his injury, Nick’s injured left arm is being supported in a sling as he hopes for improvement that would allow him to dance this coming Saturday.
On Wednesday evening, the television personality posted an Instagram video, updating everyone that his healing process is progressing nicely, and soon they’ll decide if he can perform on this weekend’s live program.
Nick shared an update with his followers: “Just stepped out from a fantastic training day followed by a relaxing bath. Everything went splendidly!
‘Shoulder is repairing very well. I saw a great physio today as well, that’s helped enormously.’
It was disclosed that a decision regarding if he will perform dancing over the weekend will be made by the producers and his medical team on Thursday.
Nick shared that he has a training session scheduled for the next day. They’ll decide in the afternoon of that day if he can participate in the competition on Saturday, and he seems quite optimistic about it.
“I’m really trying hard to make it by then. Crossing all my fingers for success. Fingers crossed, I’ll be able to meet up with you on Saturday.
In my latest update earlier today, I shared that I’m en route to the training studio for a significant meeting with my dance partner, Luba Mushtuk. My goal? To assess what, if any, dancing moves I can muster up – and cross my fingers for her approval!
He shared with his fans in a video that this is an important day for him. He’s deeply wishing that by Saturday, we’ll learn if he can truly dance well.

Today, although I’m wearing a sling on my arm for rest when not in use, I plan to test my abilities by giving dancing a try. Despite feeling great, I want to check how well I can move with this injury.
‘Luba is trying to prepare a dance that will work for me. ‘
He added: I’d really like to stay part of the competition, so keep your fingers crossed for me.’
Bosses had already prepared backup plans before Thursday’s announcement, as they were concerned he might have to step down from the show.
According to a source, everyone involved is eagerly awaiting confirmation from the medical staff that Nick can participate this weekend in the event, while also ensuring he remains part of the show.
‘Viewers find him incredibly appealing, so if he requires some time off for recovery, we’ll gladly allow him a break and welcome him back the following week, as long as everything goes smoothly.’
‘If that bothers other contestants, then so be it. The bosses want him back.’
This weekend, the first celebrity contestant will be voted off the dance show.
Following a sudden MRI scan at Harley Street on Monday, Nick expressed optimism to the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off, It Takes Two, stating that he still holds a positive outlook about his ability to carry on with the show.
He will perform an American Smooth dance to Blur’s “Parklife” with his professional partner Luba, as long as doctors give him a clean bill of health first.
Lubat playfully suggested they might add some sparkle to Knowles’s sling, and mentioned that his aim remains spot-on in his right arm.
She suggested they focus on refining their ‘precise step coordination’ for the foxtrot section of the dance, while also hoping to include a lift. She added that they could adjust their routine to accommodate the injury.
Nick added: ‘Luckily I’m very big, and Luba is very light, so one-arm lifts.’
