Craig Revel Horwood, a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, is temporarily living in a caravan to save money while his $2.5 million home is being renovated.
Craig, 61, has been a staple of the much-loved BBC show since it first hit screens in 2004.
The celebrity is currently renovating his luxurious £2 million home in King’s Cliffe, Northamptonshire, when he’s not performing.
Until the work is complete, however, Craig has taken up different living arrangements.
He recently shared with the Daily Mail that he’s currently living in a caravan because it’s more affordable than paying for storage.
In September 2025, the TV star posted photos on Instagram showing the damage to his home – it was mostly rubble and completely empty inside.
In a 2025 interview with Country and Town House, Craig revealed that the project is currently being demolished and the first phase of construction will start within a month.
We’re anticipating a launch sometime in August of next year, which is a bit concerning given the timeline. Still, I’m relieved to see progress being made.
Craig recently received approval to construct a high-end outdoor entertainment area at his country home, valued at £2 million. This decision came despite concerns from neighbors who worried that parties held in his garden would create a disturbance.
The Strictly Come Dancing judge faced criticism after revealing his plans to build an entertainment space – including a swim spa and hot tub – in the backyard of his large riverside home.
A resident of King’s Cliffe, Northamptonshire, said the noise from his garden parties was already too loud and worried that a new patio would increase the disturbance to neighbors.
They wrote to the council to complain about the loud noise coming from their neighbor’s garden during parties and gatherings.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve noticed something about this property – the way the land is shaped, with trees lining the river, actually carries sound quite well. This means you can easily hear conversations and activity from the gardens, especially around the pool. It creates a really connected, social atmosphere, but something to be aware of if you’re seeking total privacy.
Building up this terrace will likely make the noise problem worse unless trees or sound barriers are added to the low walls near the entrances.
‘We object to the raising of this area unless some noise reduction can be installed.’
Our neighbor said the noise from their garden is already quite loud, and without some kind of barrier, we’ll be able to hear even more noise from that direction.
Even though people protested, North Northamptonshire council approved the plan this month, deciding it wouldn’t significantly bother nearby residents.
Craig, who shares a home with his partner Jonathan Myring, can now move forward with his plans to renovate the garden at their 160-year-old countryside property.
The dancer intends to add a gravel driveway, remove the current garage to create a grassy meadow, and construct a new space for leisure activities.
Vehicles are being relocated to a new gravel driveway, even though the area is prone to flooding and there’s still a chance floodwaters could carry them into the garden and leave them stuck in the plants.
Craig’s sprawling home sits in 2.2 acres and includes a lake and pond.
The property is located in the charming conservation area of King’s Cliffe, a village with a rich history stretching back to the time of the Domesday Book.
The television personality purchased the home for £1.8 million in 2021. After significant renovations, it’s now estimated to be worth about £2 million.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE what Craig managed to get approved! He already had the go-ahead for this incredible renovation – a huge entrance hall, a full gym, a massive master bedroom, a butler’s kitchen (can you even imagine?!), a wine store, and this cozy little ‘snug’ room. It’s like his dream house is finally becoming a reality, and I’m living for it!
He described the extensive renovations, explaining it took him a year to figure out what he wanted to do with the house after living in it for four years. Then, it took another year to work with architects on the plans, and a final year to get the necessary planning permission.
I knew I needed to renovate the house; it was a complete mess. The staircase was oddly placed, the kitchen was in the wrong room, and the living room layout made it unusable.
‘And it was all on different levels, which I wanted to get sorted.’
News recently surfaced that Delta Goodrem, known for her role on the show Neighbours, is likely to be a contestant on the 2026 season of Strictly Come Dancing.
Show bosses have reportedly been interested in signing the 41-year-old TV star, known for her role as Nina Tucker in an Australian soap opera, to compete on the BBC’s dance competition for the Glitterball Trophy.
According to a source speaking with the Daily Mail, a deal is nearly finalized to bring this person on board, after years of attempts.
‘Obviously, she is a good name for the show.’
