Stranger Things star promises satisfying ending for Dustin, is open to returning

As a gamer who’s spent countless hours immersed in various worlds and timelines, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia as we approach the final season of “Stranger Things“. It’s been an incredible journey since 2016, much like my own life’s adventure through the pixelated realms of gaming.

If all goes well, we’ll be able to catch the fifth and concluding season of Stranger Things next year, marking three years since season 4 premiered in 2022. With such a long gap between seasons, anticipation is running high, but I have no doubt that creators Matt and Ross Duffer aim to conclude their science-fiction coming-of-age tale with a bang.

The cast members, including Gaten Matarazzo who plays Dustin Henderson, are giving hints about the upcoming series, and in an interview with RadioTimes, Gaten assures fans that Dustin’s storyline will conclude neatly: “It definitely will serve as a capstone. I believe it will tie up quite well.

Matarazzo hinted about possible future adventures for Dustin after the series ends, suggesting that his character will likely survive whatever challenges lie ahead. When confronting a lethal interdimensional threat like Vecna, nothing can be certain. “I don’t think Matt or Ross would want to tackle anything like that again for quite some time,” he pondered. “If you were to ask me if I wanted to return a year from now, I might say I want to try something new initially, but who knows what the future holds?” He added, “I’d love to see where Dustin goes in a potential continuation after season 5, especially if he makes it that far. It would be exciting to explore what Dustin would be like as a 30-year-old and tackle that storyline.

I’d be interested in seeing what their concept would be, but yeah, I’m absolutely open to anything. If it’s good and it’s exciting and other people are excited about doing it, absolutely. I would like to branch off and do some other stuff initially, I think for the next few years at least.

Among the various characters on the series, Dustin is one who has evolved from childhood to early adulthood before our eyes. It’d be intriguing to follow his journey as an adult. Given his intellectual curiosity and love for the unknown, it seems likely that he might become a scientist or even a science fiction writer in the future.

As a dedicated fan, I can confirm that there’s at least one spinoff of Stranger Things brewing, but it seems like the original cast might not be part of this new adventure. It looks like we’ll have to hold on tight for quite some time if we’re hoping for their return. In the meantime, I’m just grateful for the upcoming final episodes. All in all, the show has been an epic nine-year ride that will conclude in 2025. Despite the long waits along the way, it’s been one heck of a journey!

Regarding other possible ventures Matarazzo may engage in before potentially rejoining the Stranger Things universe, there’s a lot of room for speculation. With a background in theater, film roles under his belt, and voicing the main character in Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy this year, it seems he’ll have numerous opportunities when the final episodes of Stranger Things are released. I sense that these upcoming episodes will be nothing short of amazing.
