Star Wars Just Released Its Most Baffling Movie Trailer Of All Time

I was really hoping the Super Bowl would reveal a full trailer for the new Mandalorian & Grogu season. What we actually got was… unexpected, and honestly, pretty confusing for most viewers.

As a big Star Wars fan, I was so excited to hear about The Mandalorian & Grogu coming to theaters – it’s the first movie since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019! We haven’t gotten a full trailer yet, and with the release in May getting closer, I was really hoping the Super Bowl would finally give us something more than just that short teaser from last September. I’m still holding out hope for a proper look at the movie!

As a huge movie buff, I’m watching the Big Game, but it looks like Star Wars fans like me aren’t going to get everything we were hoping for from the trailers and commercials shown so far. It’s a bit of a letdown, honestly!

The Mandalorian & Grogu’s Super Bowl Trailer Is… Certainly Something

This commercial cleverly imitates the iconic Budweiser Super Bowl ads. Instead of the famous Clydesdale horses, we see Taun Tauns from The Empire Strikes Back pulling Din Djarin and Grogu through the snow. The voiceover sounds just like Sam Elliott, describing the special connection between the Star Wars characters, and the ad concludes with the well-known phrase, “This Is The Way.”

It’s potentially exciting and imaginative, but only if a longer trailer was also released. Right now, it looks like this short 30-second clip is all Lucasfilm has to share for the Super Bowl. Given how much we still don’t know about the movie and its story, it’s a bit of a letdown.

The Mandalorian & Grogu Is 15 Weeks Away (And We Still Don’t Have A Full Trailer)

Lucasfilm needs to start a serious promotional campaign for The Mandalorian & Grogu soon. It’s been seven years since a Star Wars movie last came out, and excitement isn’t where it should be. They definitely need a much bigger and more effective strategy to generate buzz for the film.

The Mandalorian & Grogu releases in theaters on May 22nd, 2026.
