Star Trek really needs to capitalize on Jack Quaid’s rising star
As a seasoned gamer who has traversed galaxies and timelines with countless interstellar expeditions under my belt, I can confidently say that Jack Quaid’s departure from Star Trek: Lower Decks marks a significant turning point for the franchise. His portrayal of Brad Boimler was nothing short of exceptional, captivating audiences across the cosmos and solidifying his place as one of the most beloved characters in recent memory.
As a passionate gamer, I’m bidding farewell to Star Trek: Lower Decks, marking the departure of Jack Quaid from this iconic franchise. It’s no secret that Quaid is quickly making waves in the industry, having recently wrapped up his role in Star Trek: Lower Decks and starring in The Boys on Amazon. His stardom is undeniably on the rise, and during his time on Lower Decks, he has solidified himself as one of the most recognized names among the modern shows’ cast.
Given that Lower Decks has concluded and Quaid’s role in the franchise is unclear, it seems sensible to consider securing Quaid for a future contract. This wouldn’t be for another season of Lower Decks, but rather for a brand new, live-action series.
Among the limited number of figures associated with the animated branch of this franchise, he possesses significant drawing ability that can attract audiences for a fresh series solely based on his participation. It’s an obvious choice, more so when you recall that Tawny Newsome, who starred alongside Quaid in Lower Decks, is currently engaged in Starfleet Academy and another unnamed series within the Star Trek universe. It’s evident that the team behind Lower Decks enjoys favor with the decision-makers of the franchise.
Strange New Worlds, it’s clear that his character is versatile beyond animation. The potential for this character and the talented actor who plays him is immense. All that’s needed now is to create a new live-action setting where Quaid and Boimler can thrive, taking advantage of their growing fame in the show.
In a somewhat humorous yet engaging manner, Bortus might gradually gain self-assurance and become a more influential figure, as he ascends through the ranks of his new assignment. There could be brief appearances of characters from Lower Deck interspersed throughout, serving to enrich and develop the character’s backstory, while keeping Quarles in the picture for a little longer.
There’s definite promise in this idea, all that remains is for the team behind Star Trek to recognize its potential and bring it to life.
