Jemma Solomon, sister of Stacey Solomon, is planning to become a full-time social media influencer, just like her sister.
On Sunday, the 37-year-old shared an update with her Instagram followers, announcing she was closing her business, The Label Lady, after running it for six years.
The company that helped people organize their homes closed down after Jemma announced they were facing a very difficult financial year months earlier.
Stacey Solomon, 36, the host of BBC’s Sort Your Life Out, has an estimated net worth of £7.3 million. This is partly due to her representation by YMU, a talent agency that also works with stars like Ant and Dec and Davina McCall.
For those who’ve been following me for a while, you may know that I ran a business called The Label Lady for the past six years. I built it from a small, home-based operation into a successful six-figure company, but in 2026, I decided it was time to close up shop and focus on myself.
In 2026, I want to reconnect with who I am. I really miss things like baking and going all-out for my kids’ birthdays. I’ve always been more than just a mom, and I have strong feelings about the expectations that come with that label.
I definitely plan to continue partnering with brands and affiliates. I really enjoy these collaborations, I love the brands I work with, and it allows me to be home with my kids – something I haven’t been able to do before.
Jemma shared that she’s collaborated with some fantastic brands recently, and a particular highlight was a trip to Palm Springs with Amazon, which she took with her sister, Stacey.
Jemma acknowledges people often compare her to Stacey, given their similar careers as influencers, but insists there’s no rivalry between them. She explains they’re close sisters – only 18 months apart in age – with a lot in common, and they genuinely support each other’s goals and dreams.
Jemma created The Label Lady after her husband Lee lost his job as a tradesman in March 2020.
Lee had worked in the same field since he was a teenager. Then, unexpectedly, he worried about being able to afford his house and provide for his kids.
Jemma quit nursing and launched the home-organisation business which made custom labels.
Jemma was so determined she even reached out to Lord Sugar for guidance, and surprisingly, he agreed to help. In 2021, the billionaire invested in her company and joined its board of directors.
Despite her goals, the company’s financial records painted a different picture. Documents showed The Label Lady’s assets had decreased for three years in a row, and its cash reserves had fallen significantly – from £630,000 to £342,000 – by December.
Jemma has admitted things are particularly difficult right now. She stated earlier this year that this is the most challenging period for small businesses, and that she anticipates it will be her greatest hurdle of the year.
‘I don’t necessarily have it in me to be a multi-billion-pound corporation business,’ she added. ‘It’s actually really tricky, really tough.’
Jemma announced the closure of The Label Lady with a heartfelt message: ‘Farewell! This isn’t a defeat, but simply the right time to move on, and that’s perfectly fine. I’m incredibly proud of all we built and accomplished at the label!’
‘Over 300,000 orders my labels in hundreds of thousands of homes all over the world. I did that.
I built this business from a small playroom to a 6,000 square foot facility, and I couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of my family. Watching my children grow up alongside this journey, learning the value of hard work, drive, and determination, has been the most rewarding part. These lessons, I believe, will be invaluable throughout their lives.
I worked with a wonderful team who were passionate about my business and lovingly hand-made all of our labels.
Meeting Sir Alan Sugar and gaining insights into his approach to business was truly amazing – it still surprises me! It meant so much to have a supportive team cheering me on and acknowledging my progress every step of the way.
I’ve been so fortunate to meet amazing people, and I hope that continues as I move forward. It’s alright to say goodbye and start fresh – to begin a new chapter in life.
I often get asked about my future plans, but I’ll share those later. Right now, I want to express my gratitude. I’m incredibly thankful to all of you for helping me achieve a lifelong dream – I’ll never forget it!
I definitely won’t be going anywhere, I promise! I’ll explain everything properly soon. Lots of love, Jemma (aka The Label Lady).
