Two notable figures, Spike Lee and Katy Perry, have recently expressed their endorsement for Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s pick for president.
On Sunday, the acclaimed filmmaker with an Oscar to her name, age 67, used Instagram to praise Vice President Kamala Harris after Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race. She expressed her admiration by posting, “Once more, a sister steps in to save the day.”
As a devoted fan of Perry, the singer-songwriter who is 39 years old, I can’t help but express my excitement and support for her chosen candidate. Hours after hearing the news that Joe Biden endorsed Kamala Harris as his potential successor, I found myself inspired to share my enthusiasm. Lee and Perry openly endorsed Biden during his campaign for the presidency four years ago. From August 19-22, the Democratic National Convention will take place in Chicago. It was anticipated that Biden would officially claim the nomination during this event after earning a total of 3,896 delegates in the party’s primary elections held earlier this year.
