In 2026, Spider-Man will be featured in several live-action films, with the first one arriving before the next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films have been incredibly successful and well-received, suggesting many more are on the way. The storyline of Spider-Man: Brand New Day sets the stage for future installments.
Tom Holland says the next Marvel movie will begin a fresh direction for his character, Peter Parker. Before we see Spider-Man team up with heroes like the Hulk and the Punisher in the upcoming film, Brand New Day (releasing in July), it’s been confirmed that a different live-action Spider-Man will also appear. While this new Spider-Man won’t be part of the main Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s still a thrilling development for fans.
A Live-Action Spider-Man Appearance Happens Before Brand New Day
The new Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, comes out in theaters on July 31st. We don’t yet know the release date for another live-action Spider-Man project planned for 2026, but Spider-Noir is confirmed to stream on Prime Video this spring. This means the Spider-Noir series will be available before the next Spider-Man movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Nicolas Cage is playing Spider-Man Noir—known as The Spider in the series—in a new live-action show. He previously voiced the character in the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The series will focus on a seasoned Marvel hero working as a detective in a dark and realistic 1930s New York City.
Okay, so Prime Video is doing something really different with Spider-Man, and I have to say, I’m intrigued. This isn’t your typical web-slinging hero story – it’s a completely fresh take on the character, unlike anything Marvel or Sony have given us before. Instead of Peter Parker, we’re following Ben Reilly in a series they’re calling Spider-Noir. And get this – they’re pulling in some heavy-hitting villains from the comics! Jack Huston is taking on Sandman, and Brendan Gleeson will be Silvermane. I know switching up the main hero can be risky, but based on what I’ve seen, Spider-Noir is shaping up to be something special.
Could Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Appear Elsewhere In 2026?
Although Nicolas Cage played Spider-Man Noir in a live-action project outside of the main Marvel Spider-Man: Brand New Day series, there’s still a possibility Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could appear in a similar way in 2026. The least likely scenario would be an appearance in season two of Daredevil: Born Again. Despite potential rights conflicts, it would make narrative sense for Spider-Man to team up with Daredevil to fight Kingpin and save New York City.
If Tom Holland returns as Spider-Man in a Marvel film before 2026, it would likely be in December. The upcoming Avengers: Doomsday will feature characters from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the broader Marvel multiverse. Because Spider-Man is so popular and important to the franchise, Holland could make a surprise appearance in the next Avengers movie.
