A lot of familiar faces will be showing up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as many of the upcoming movie’s main characters have already been featured across different Disney+ projects. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is undoubtedly one of the biggest movies of 2026. It will almost definitely cross the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office, fans will get to see the aftermath of the world forgetting Peter Parker, and Sadie Sink will officially join the MCU.
Brand New Day will focus heavily on Tom Holland’s Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man), as well as other established Spidey characters like Zendaya’s MJ and Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds. However, it will also feature interactions between Spider-Man and other MCU characters like Hulk, Punisher, and Scorpion (who is being brought back from Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Disney+ is now a key component of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Several projects are released on the streaming service each year, and like all MCU titles, these shows both tell their own stories and contribute to the overall continuity. “Brand New Day” perfectly illustrates how characters first appearing in Disney+ shows can then be featured in the MCU films. In fact, five characters from “Brand New Day” have already appeared in Disney+ series, paving the way for more characters from Marvel’s television shows to be included in future MCU movies.
Every Confirmed Spider-Man: Brand New Day Character Who Has Been in a Marvel Disney+ Show
Punisher – Daredevil: Born Again

Jon Bernthal is reprising his role as Frank Castle, the Punisher, in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie. This marks the Punisher’s first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but many fans already know him from his previous work in Daredevil: Born Again.
Although appearing in only two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again (episodes 4 and 9), the Punisher still played a significant role. Daredevil, Matt Murdock, investigated Frank Castle after evidence connected him to some recent crimes. It turned out the perpetrators were actually his followers – dubbed “fanboys” – not Frank himself, but initially, Frank didn’t want to help stop them.
I was so relieved to see him back in the Season 1 finale! It was amazing to finally see him jump into the fight against Wilson Fisk’s team – he really made a difference.
Although the Punisher and Spider-Man will eventually team up in Brand New Day, they’re expected to have very different methods for solving problems – a contrast hinted at in early photos from the set. This difference in approach should create a compelling and unusual relationship between the two characters as they try to work together despite their conflicting viewpoints.
Bruce Banner/Hulk – She-Hulk

Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk only appeared in one Disney+ show: She-Hulk. In the series, he acted as a mentor to Jennifer Walters, helping her learn to control her powers. While his role wasn’t huge, the show revealed that Hulk had a son named Skaar, who was born during his time on the planet Sakaar.
While Hulk hasn’t had as big a role in the recent storylines as Punisher, rumors indicate we’ll be seeing a new version of the character – the Grey Hulk. This could offer a fresh look into Bruce Banner’s complex personality, something the Marvel Cinematic Universe has consistently delved into.
Tombstone – Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Many comic book movie fans were happily surprised by Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. This animated Disney+ series presented a fresh take on Peter Parker, separate from the main Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show also followed the story of Lonnie Lincoln, and by the end of the season, his intimidating nickname – Tombstone – was finally revealed to viewers.
Marvin Jones III, who voiced Tombstone in the animated film Into the Spider-Verse, is returning to play the character in Brand New Day, but this time in a live-action role. While details are scarce, Tombstone is expected to be a powerful crime boss in New York City who will likely clash with Spider-Man.
Scorpion – Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

The character Scorpion hasn’t appeared in a live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe film since 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, he played a significant role in the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, where he led a gang also called the Scorpions. In that show, Scorpion was a powerful enemy for Spider-Man, giving him a tough fight and nearly defeating him.
Michael Mando is returning as the villain in Brand New Day. Photos from the set suggest Scorpion will escape from prison, setting up a likely confrontation with Spider-Man.
Spider-Man – Marvel Zombies & Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Spider-Man will definitely be a part of Brand New Day. The famous hero has already been featured in two animated shows on Disney+. He first appeared in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which told the story of how he became Spider-Man and his beginnings as a superhero.
Spider-Man appeared in Marvel Zombies, an animated series for mature audiences that spun off from What If…?. In Zombies, he battled an undead Thanos, joined forces with other heroes, and actually lasted until the very end – a feat few major characters achieve. The finale didn’t definitively show whether he lived or died, only hinting at his demise, but clues suggest he might have survived.
Spider-Man is clearly the central figure in Brand New Day. As the main character, the story will focus on his experiences, likely including adjusting to a life where his identity is secret, dealing with the loss of Aunt May, and a temporary separation from his friends Ned and MJ. He’ll also be facing off against New York City’s classic villains.
