Skyesports Championship 2024 preview

Skyesports Championship 2024 preview

As a long-time CS:2 fan and follower of esports, I’m thrilled to see the Skyesports Championship 2024 taking place in Mumbai, India, with a $300,000 prize pool. Although it may not feature some of the top teams like G2, Natus Vincere, Vitality, and Team Spirit, there’s still plenty to look forward to with teams like The MongolZ, Eternal Fire, and ENCE in attendance.

There’s plenty of CS2 action to follow in India this week.

CS:2 esports have resumed following the player hiatus, with the upcoming competition being the Skyesports Championship 2024 – a major LAN event in Mumbai, India, boasting a prize pool of $300,000.

Despite the absence of top-tier teams like G2, Natus Vincere, Vitality, and Team Spirit, several noteworthy squads such as The MongolZ, Eternal Fire, and ENCE are set to participate. These teams are sure to put on an impressive performance.

Here’s our preview for Skyesports Championship 2024, which will run from July 23 to 28.

Best teams to keep an eye on at Skyesports Championship 2024

The MongolZ

As an ardent fan, I can confidently say that the MongolZ are sure to make a strong impact and contend for the championship title at the Skyesports 2024 event.

An all-Mongolian team headed by Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren emerged victorious in the YaLLa Compass 2024 held in June, outperforming teams like Ninja in Pyjamas, Astralis, Heroic, and ENCE en route to claiming the championship. With a disappointing performance at the Esports World Cup 2024, the MongolZ are expected to bring heightened determination to the Indian tournament.

Eternal Fire

Eternal Fire is rapidly establishing themselves as a top-tier team, similar to The MongolZ. Most recently, they qualified for the playoffs at the PGL Copenhagen Major in March and went on to win the CCT Global Finals 2024 in May against notable opponents such as Team Liquid, Astralis, Fnatic, and GamerLegion.

ENCE

At the beginning of this year, ENCE started strongly with Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander guiding his teammates to a quarterfinals appearance at IEM Katowice in February. However, they failed to match that achievement in other major tournaments during the first half of 2024.

At Skyesports Championship 2024, ENCE will unveil the impact of their recent roster changes. They welcomed back Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev from Monte and gave more playing time to their rising academy AWPer, Paavo “podi” Heiskanen. The success of these additions remains to be seen as ENCE continues its competition in the second half of the season.

True Rippers

As a gamer following the Indian esports scene, I’m excited that True Rippers will be representing our country for the first time at the Skyesports Championship 2024. Although they haven’t attended an international tournament before, it’s going to be thrilling to witness their performance as the sole Indian team in this global event. Since our scene is mostly grassroots, this experience could open up new opportunities for us to learn from other teams and potentially showcase unique tactics that have yet to be discovered within the Indian gaming community.
