Should You Return Rossana’s Stolen Food in Avowed? The Shocking Truth Revealed!
In the game “Avowed“, there’s a secret decision point during Rossana’s mission accessible if your character has a specific stat configuration. You encounter Rossana in Fior Mes Iverno, where she can be found praying to the right of the bounty board in a private spot. Upon speaking with her, she expresses that the local issues stem from neglecting the spirits of the deceased. Following this conversation, several actions are possible, which will alter the course of the mission.
In the game “Avowed”, you’ll encounter numerous options, some of which can easily be overlooked. Some choices will present themselves during the main storyline, and they aren’t always straightforward – some may make you feel morally ambiguous, while others seem more appealing but still come with consequences. At times, I felt torn between the right choice and the best choice. In particular, Rossana’s quest seems to offer shades of gray rather than clear-cut decisions. Although Rossana appears dedicated to placating the spirits, there are people who desperately need the food she is providing.
What Happens If You Follow Rossana’s Request
You Will Fight Some Spirits & Leave Offerings For Them
In the game Avowed, if your character’s Perception stat is low when interacting with Rossana, you won’t be given the chance to challenge her initially. But, if your character has a Perception score of 5 or more, you can inquire about whether she took the food and she will respond nonchalantly. She doesn’t take offense; instead, she explains that she had to do it to placate the angry spirits. If this interaction isn’t available, though, you won’t have the opportunity to return the stolen food, regardless of your actions.
Following this path leads you to three distinct locations housing the deceased, each guarded by enraged spirits. Along your journey, you’ll encounter numerous adversaries to conquer. After offering food on the gravesite, you’ll head back to Fior Mes Iverno and engage in a conversation with Rossana. Upon successful completion of the quest, Rossana will reward you with Berath’s Blessed Ward, an exceptional amulet that wards off skeletons when used.
What Happens If You Return The Stolen Food
The Choice That Will Make You Feel Better
If your Perception score allows you to discover the opportunity to take some food, you’ll be presented with an extra task, which is not compulsory. You can visit the Farmer’s Market and converse with Ilena. At this point, you have the choice of either confessing about the stolen food, returning it to her, or compensating her for the food by paying her back. Alternatively, you could choose not to do anything and leave the situation as it is.
Giving her the food back will instantly conclude the Elder Offerings quest, leaving you without any rewards other than a clear conscience. If you choose to pay her 100 coins for the food instead, she’ll be slightly less grateful, but you’ll part ways feeling somewhat relieved, and you can still complete your offerings to the spirits and obtain the trinket.
You Should Follow Rossana’s Quest In Avowed
Pay Ilena For The Food If You Feel Bad Ignoring Her
It’s revealing that the chance to return the food is hidden within a dialogue option, suggesting that Rossana might have sincere motives despite her unconventional methods. Furthermore, it’s important to note that you won’t get anything in return for giving back the food. However, opting to pay for the food may help assuage any guilt and enable you to donate the food nonetheless. Nevertheless, there are additional factors to consider when deciding to help Rossana, as there is another layer to her quest.
heads up, some spoilers about the end of your adventure in Fior Mes Iverno: The city’s inhabitants are set to depart by the conclusion of the main quest in this region. Regardless of any actions taken, the city will be deserted, and its people will move on. Consequently, if you have advanced knowledge of the events, you might realize that ultimately, returning the food won’t make a difference.
Pondering about the future implications might seem slightly sneaky, but if you cover the cost of the meal, Ilena will be in a more advantageous position for trading when she moves to a new city. Money is essential in such situations and it helps alleviate any guilt feelings. It’s worth noting that in a typical scenario, one would return the food, but considering the circumstances in ‘Avowed’, even the Steel Garrote might not approve of that option.
