Shia LaBeouf arrested again on battery charge in New Orleans… just hours after unhinged ‘homophobic’ interview

Shia LaBeouf has been taken into custody again in New Orleans.

According to TMZ, the 39-year-old actor was arrested and booked into jail around 1:30 PM on Saturday for alleged domestic violence.

It’s currently unknown if this latest claim relates to the event on February 17th that led to his previous arrest.

News broke on Saturday that a new warrant was issued for the former Disney star related to the previous event.

This new job offer arrived shortly after LaBeouf’s first interview following his arrest, an interview where he made several unusual statements.

During his interview on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, the former child star surprised people with his unusual and sometimes shocking comments.

Among them was a claim that he felt ‘scared’ when approached by three gay men on Fat Tuesday.

I was really taken aback by something Shia LeBeouf said in a recent interview. He admitted he feels scared when he’s around gay men, specifically mentioning a fear of physical touch. He explained it as a personal reaction – he said he gets frightened if he’s standing alone and gay men are nearby and touching his leg. He even apologized for it, and frankly stated that if that makes him homophobic, then he accepts that label. It was a very raw and honest, though definitely uncomfortable, admission.

He described the argument, saying he’d been drinking and felt like someone had invaded his personal space. However, he acknowledged he wasn’t thinking clearly and took full responsibility for his part in it.

He took responsibility for using a hurtful, anti-gay slur, stating, ‘I said something unacceptable and I didn’t mean to offend anyone… I was wrong.’

The interview with Channel 5 took place on February 24th, a week after Mardi Gras, but wasn’t released until February 28th.

On Friday LaBeouf was issued a new warrant related to his February 17 arrest.

Sources told WWL Louisiana that the warrant involves an additional victim from the same fight.

According to witnesses, Shia LaBeouf became increasingly confrontational at a business and was asked to leave by employees. They claim he then physically attacked a man, hitting him several times with his fists.

Police stated that things got worse when LaBeouf came back and reportedly attacked the first person again, then punched another man in the face.

He  posted a $100,000 bond on Thursday after making a court appearance.

The actor is now required to check into rehab and undergo regular drug and alcohol testing.

Shia LaBeouf explained to Callaghan that he moved to New Orleans after the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025, as he has strong family connections to the city.

LaBeouf detailed some family history elsewhere in the thorough interview.

Okay, so get this – I was totally floored when I found out his grandma was a lesbian! But it’s… complicated. Apparently, back then, she had to pretend to be straight, so she married a man just for show. He was basically her ‘beard,’ someone to make it look like she was with a man, you know? It’s just… wow. It really explains a lot about him, honestly. I’ve been researching it obsessively ever since!

His family name was originally LeBoeuf, but his grandmother changed the spelling. She did this to create distance between herself and her family, who had rejected her.

He stated his acceptance of homosexuality, but with a clear boundary: he’s comfortable with people being gay as long as it doesn’t involve any physical intimacy with him. Essentially, he accepts it at a distance.

During a recent interview, the actor briefly mentioned his split from Mia Goth. The former couple have a daughter, Isabel, who will be four years old in March.

This isn’t a recent breakup; it’s something I’ve been dealing with for a while. I don’t want to go into too much detail because it involves other people, but I take responsibility for the failure of my marriage. That’s why I decided to move.
