Shannon Beador’s ex John Janssen slams RHOC star’s attempts to dismiss his fraud claim in facelift lawsuit as he seeks punitive damages

As a lifestyle expert with a background in law and a keen interest in celebrity gossips, I have closely followed Shannon Beador’s legal battle with her ex-boyfriend John Janssen. The latest update to this ongoing saga is both intriguing and unfortunate.

In March, Beador, age 60, was taken to court by Janssen over an unpaid $75k loan. The allegation was that Beador had obtained the money from Janssen for cosmetic surgery but failed to repay the debt.

In the most recent development of the ongoing lawsuit, In Touch magazine shares new information on the back-and-forth exchanges between Janssen’s and Beador’s legal teams. Notably, Janssen’s lawyer responds to Janssen’s efforts to throw out his demands for punitive damages, attorney fees, and fraud allegations.

Initially, I found myself in a situation where legal representatives were working diligently to dismiss the accusations of fraud leveled against me, the Real Housewives of Orange County star, by Janssen. Additionally, they were seeking to waive any claims for punitive damages.

1. Based on their understanding, Janssen’s legal representatives argue that there wasn’t enough solid proof presented to support the accusation of fraud. Consequently, they believe he should not have been awarded any money.

According to court papers filed by Janssen’s legal team, his call for punitive damages is justified based on the complaint’s content. This claim is supported since the complaint alleges both malice and fraud against Shannon. Specifically, it asserts that Shannon intentionally misrepresented facts to deceive Janssen, leading him to lend money to her with no intention of repayment.

As an obsessed fan, I’ve been closely following the developments in Shannon’s case. The more I delve into it, the more convinced I become of her deceitful intentions. Despite her repeated promises to Mr. Janssen that she would pay back the loans, she’s now trying to rebrand them as “gifts” that she’s not obligated to repay for the first time ever. This only adds fuel to my belief that Shannon has been intentionally misleading us all along.

1. His legal team argues that he presented sufficient proof to support his accusation of fraud, but the court has not issued a verdict on this matter as of now.

Previously, Janssen’s legal representative countered Beador’s characterization of the loan she claimed he provided her.

Shannon was aware that her pledges to repay the loans for the services rendered were insincere, with no genuine intention of honoring them financially. While she had vowed to reimburse both loans, her subsequent behaviors have left no doubt that her promises were merely empty words and never meant to be kept.

“Attempting to evade her responsibilities to repay the Loans, Shannon’s lawyer mentioned that she now claims the Loans were a ‘gift’ from Mr. Janssen, an assertion which is not true.”

From 2019 to November 2022, Beador was in a relationship with a businessman. She kept their separation private and didn’t announce it to the public until early the next year.

People reports that Janssen initiated a lawsuit at the Orange County Superior Court in March, as indicated by the court documents they acquired.

1. He claimed that Shannon violated their unwritten agreement (oral contract) and committed fraud by promising something but failing to pay him back.

In January 2022, John asserted that he lent her forty thousand dollars via a wire transfer to finance a facelift procedure. Later on, in May 2023, he provided her with a personal check totaling thirty-five thousand dollars.

According to the court records, he also stated that he and Beador had an agreement that she would repay him the amount plus interest.

Instead, Janssen claimed that despite requesting repayment in 2023 and this current year, the reality star has failed to make good on the debt.

In addition to the $75k in full, the Real Housewives star’s ex is asking for reimbursement of accumulated expenses and interest, as well as covering his legal fees.

Following the public disclosure of the lawsuit, Shannon expressed her reaction through a statement to People, stating she was taken aback and disheartened by John’s decision to take legal action.

1. ‘My lawyer and his colleague have been regularly discussing our case. I decided to meet John’s demands as I anticipated that legal fees would exceed the requested amount. However, my primary concern was to avoid the emotional toll associated with a court battle.’

‘It is important that I continue to focus on the positive aspects of my life and move forward.’ 

beador stated, “John turned down the proposal as he was unwilling to put his name on a mutual nondisclosure pact.”

I was wishing that by fulfilling his groundless request, we might be able to utilize the situation as a means to finally put a definitive end to this part of my life.

When it comes to the recent controversy surrounding the alleged “gift” of $75,000 from Janssen, John himself has set the record straight through a statement released by his team. Contrary to Shannon’s claims, this sum was not an unanticipated present but rather a part of a previously agreed-upon arrangement between the two parties.

Edson K. McClellan from Rutan & Tucker LLP made clear to People magazine that the claim by Ms. Beador that Mr. Janssen gave her $75,000 as a “gift” is without any basis. Evidence from their emails and text messages will prove this.

Mr. Janssen regrets that Ms. Beador’s refusal to pay back the loans left him with no choice but to initiate this legal action.

Since the separation between Shannon and John towards the end of 2022, it is now reported that Janssen has found new love and is currently in a relationship with former Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC) star, Alexis Bellino.
